Can you give this a boost to help some poorly kitties? The Society for Abandoned Animals is where I adopted my cats Merlin & Juno from many years ago.

Never have I seen such a perfect example of Schrödinger's Migrant.

Zia Yusuf, asked whose PIP Reform would cut, talks about "foreign nationals". Less than a minute later, same "foreign nationals" are taking all the jobs and damning British youth to life on PIP.

Something I love about archival films is that when someone had a couple feet of film left on a roll they'd often use it to film their cat. So many films finish with a few seconds of cats

So, here's some cats from the 1950s and 60s. They were loved

Scanned from 8mm films

Reminds of the Alexi Sayle quote

"Austerity is the idea that the global financial crash of 2008 was caused by there being too many libraries in Wolverhampton."

Dear Labour, people aren’t leaning towards the Greens because they don’t know what the Greens are, but because they see what you, Labour, are doing.

The best way to stop them going to the Greens, is to have more left wing, less xenophobic, less stupid policies.

Attacking the Greens doesn’t help.

Refugees are quite often a product of our arms industry - perhaps there should be a special tax on the arms industry to go towards expenses related to refugees ?

Loath though he is to alienate floating racists, perhaps Starmer could rouse himself to condemn a violent fascist rally teeming with people who want him overthrown and/or killed

This government needs to grow a spine, a stomach, and a sense of moral purpose right now. Yes, I know that is vanishingly unlikely.
I wrote about this the other day, but I do think it's underappreciated how the lack of interest in government for arguing for a world we might want to live has allowed some of the worst of us to creep in.
sat on a train near some drunk white bloke who, one assumes, was out on the march today and he spent ages physically threatening a black guy but also, for some reason, telling him he was going to rape him? but anyway everything feels great in Britain right now

Rep. Jamie Raskin tears into Nigel Farage as a "far-right pro-Putin politician" and a "Donald Trump sycophant and wannabe".

I would really welcome someone in politics saying, with calm, level honesty, that they *don’t* understand the concerns of the far right.

Because that’s a perfectly reasonable position.

fundamentally the problem is that if you think "hotels are where I stay on holiday and I like being on holiday so living in a hotel must be fun and it's not fair others get to do it and not me" then you have the intellectual reasoning of a little child and it's going to be hard to engage with you

The far right terrorising asylum seekers in hotels love to spread the lie they’re worried about the risk of sexual assault. But here’s the truth: Two in five men arrested for last summer’s riots had been reported for domestic abuse. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

This kid is 15, and so has a moral clarity and uprightness that no adult elected official would or could ever have. There aren't really and never have been two sides of this issue, but if it has to be argued as a binary thing I don't see how anything less than this could seem like the side to be on.
