Sitting next to my Eagles obsessed mother in law and she’s doing and saying stuff that makes this look like child’s play. Like I’m afraid to even post it for fear of someone alerting the authorities.

a cancer nurse in a state I've never been to told messaged me and said that reading out Rice Truck aloud as it happened was the only day in her entire 14 year career on chemo ward that nobody cried and it's probably the best compliment I will ever get in my life
What is the best compliment you ever received? Putting aside whether or not you believed it.

Scenes from Hong Kong look apocalyptic. Horrific sight to see all those burning buildings, and to know there are so many people missing.

Can't help thinking back to Grenfell.

This isn't just a SEGA problem, but can we finally do away with selling a game for tiny bits and pieces and then a complete version later?

Hopefully this is a sign to just make complete games going forward for the entire industry as a whole (doubtful).
Sega finally admits low sales of games may have been impacted by players waiting for "definitive editions", like Persona 5 Royal or SMT 5: Vengeance

So all the relatives and extended people are here and last night like 8 adults kept asking my kid what 6-7 meant and she was like "I don't know what you're talking about" and later she and I were playing Kart and she just blurted out to me "we just say it because it makes Mrs S. mad at school" 🤌🤌🤌🤌
Honestly good job kids with the 6-7. I didn't think modern times would have anything like the "satanic messages in backwards music" bullshit we grew up with but you guys have angered and confused the adults to such an extent that there's like a whole 6-7 media beat now. Respect

So my pie take is there are no bad pies, but some pies have to be eaten a certain way:

1. Pecan: Always good

2. Fruit: Must be homemade. Otherwise bad.

3. Pumpkin: Best eaten cold at 7 am standing over a sink before everyone wakes up
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

You know what I think this is will forever be my barometer for automatic adult filtering because that may not be provocative I definitely didn’t want to see it so filtering did it’s job perfectly, I’m sorry to my eyes for clicking show image.

I regret to inform you there is more Olivia Newzzi: the print VF will feature a nude portrait by artist Isabelle Brourman that is also destined for Art Basel Miami Beach. Notably, its inclusion appears be a surprise to VF staff. VF looking worse and worse here. www.artnews.com/art-news/new...

Anyway, it's kind of insane that Carville's claim to fame was getting a candidate 43% in a presidential election (the lowest winning share of the popular vote since Woodrow Wilson) and we've had to hear from him non-stop for three+ decades.

My mom worked at a zoo in the '80s. One time a hang-glider blew way off course and crashed in the big cat area, all the staff going "oh my god he's dead" and racing to find him.

Suddenly on the radio "HE LANDED IN THE CHEETAHS, the lucky sonofa!!"
Cheetahs continue to be scary predators.

the sad part about this is they didn’t even get into the massive financial exploitation of them making the money off of what mostly kids design and build while making them buy the tools to do it

and how roblox bucks are part of the pedo toolkit for the last decade
This interview is a snapshot into where tech companies are with online harassment right now.

They know how to end it, but they decided not to spend the money. They’re prioritizing growth (and profit) above all else. And they’re blaming YOU for logging on to the platform they designed to be unsafe.
We Asked Roblox’s C.E.O. About Child Safety. It Got Tense.

For all the NYT is doing wrong (a lot), this is the brightest spot of real journalism I’ve seen from the outlet.

This is what every journo should be doing with Roblox and every other platform/company/exec with power.

Getting Baszucki to admit he wants kids gambling on his platform is ace work.

It’s strange to me that not that long ago the NWSL was quite possibly the premier women’s sports league on the planet and instead of acting like that they are acting like MLS.
DC Power of the Gainbridge Super League have extended an offer for free agent Trinity Rodman that the NWSL can't currently match due to the salary cap.

Jessica Berman: "We want Trinity in the NWSL and we will fight for her."
