This research gets called "AI" now because that's the latest buzzword. 5 years ago it would've been called "machine learning" (the term the researchers themselves use, although the magazine writer calls it AI). In the oughts it would've been called "big data." Before that, "time-series forecasting."

I took Tylenol as needed throughout my pregnancy. I am a doctor. I order Tylenol for pregnant women regularly. Tylenol is safe in pregnancy. RFK Jr is ignoring a huge recent well-done study because he doesn't like the answer it gives. There is no causality between Tylenol and autism.
You have no idea how much I despite these anti-science dipshits for making pregnant women terrified of taking (safe, mild, proven) pain relief.

Everyday that I am stuck behind a computer, chained pointlessly to the hours of a 9-5 as if it means anything in the modern work structure, I am slowly animorphing to a cow stuck in a cow grate.

I think we are going to see this at the state level as well. The austerity measures coming out of Olympia are just weakening Washington's systems. And it's also going to backfire and we will also be spamming the "undo" button in just a few months.
After the DOGE purge, reality is setting in. It turns out, workers are actually needed. The FAA just announced plans to hire at least 8,900 air traffic controllers. The National Weather Service is bringing on hundreds of new staff, just months after losing more than 500 people.
