What is a writer?
A miserable little pile of words!

Fiction attempted, with various levels of success.
Yes, I do need help, thank you for noticing.

This is where I'll — maybe? — be complaining about the process of writing, and my aptitude — or lack thereof — for it, as well as posting updates about the occasional fiction I manage to trick my brain into writing.

Not sure yet how active I'll be here, since social media are... tricky.

The way most musicians distribute to streaming services is through a distributor that lets you literally check a box to add a new service. So if the music has been pushed to one service, it's on them all. In fact, the streaming service that more musicians intentionally avoid is Spotify!!
There's several services to transfer your entire library and I've heard it is easier than expected. Just a few:

Spotify will keep raising prices and is not going to last forever with how they're running their business, so I think this is actually proactive.
Free Your Music: Ultra Simple Transfer of Playlists
Transfer playlists between any music platform, including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Qobuz, YouTube, and TIDAL. Seamlessly move your entire music library with just a few clicks. Start your easy musi...

That's mainstream culture now. "Good" is whatever the biggest lore-guzzling bootlicker shithead alive will pay money for, if you print it on a cheap toxic lunchbox.

Imagine a boot stamping on a human face, then quipping "Well, that happened!"

Forever.

Whether you point at the specific manifestation of the Disney adult, or the MCU fanboy, or anime weebs, or Um Harry Potter Is V. Important To My Childhood Actually;

it all amounts to "I think you'll find being juvenile and tasteless is THE MOST SOPHISTICATED POSITION ACTUALLY!!!!"

anyway, everything sucks, so many consider reading my hopeful trans lesbian cheerleader book series (and, in doing so, supporting a trans woman and her wife who are stuck in England)
For a limited time, the preview text for ALL THE WAY, book two of my trans lesbian cheerleader series WHEN YOU FELL FROM HEAVEN, is available to all $5 and up patrons!

The final book will be available to buy in ebook and paperback later in December :)

Been having real good discussion about this off-site, wanted to hit a Lap 2 and mention some observations I made on my tumblr earlier today as a sort of amendment to an ask I received talking about this subject (both shown here in a single post so I don't clog up the TL with a thread)

the current wave of fascist romance having its roots in the wizard kidlit franchise as a sort of palatable skin to drape over the act of thirsting after Nazis and Confederates is... morbidly apt
it's kind of a moral obligation to bully harry potter fans into making them feel insecure with themselves. you don't even have to mention rowling being a snivelling fascist. you can just point out every harry potter fan is a 12 year old who never grew up with poorly developed taste

There's a couple reasons so many IWW songs are set to the tunes of hymns and one is that the Salvation Army Band would show up and try to stop workers organizing by playing hymns to drown out speeches, so the Wobblies came up with words so they could sing along. SA has been trash all along.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

HUMAN: A fish. You can eat them.
EARLY CAT: Mine now. I need it. I need the fish. Without fish I die. Gimmie fish.
HUMAN: But you're from the desert. How can you possibly-
EARLY CAT: WOE. WOE FOR KITTY. HUMAN INFLICTS A THOUSAND WOES ON-
HUMAN: God. Fine. Have it.

One of my favourite phenomena that's really only possible in very long-running media is when the fandom hyper-focuses on a character who isn't even in 95% of it. Like, what do you mean 70% of the fanart involves a character who appears in *checks* 5 episodes of a 168-episode series nine seasons ago?

just to remind y’all that in this context wholesome is a dogwhistle that is opposite of “degenerate”. i.e. fascist shit.

like Bee pointed out, this is already a lie because most lesbian books are, indeed, wholesome (becuase they are controlled by a deeply conservative industry run by mormons)
I will now increase the fucking thing. (This isn't about any of my books, just a general complaint.) 'Wah wah I can't find wholesome books' sweetie most mainstream F/F books are already completely fucking sexless.

Either you understand that there is an organized campaign to push trans people out of public life with the explicit end goal of "morally mandating us out of existence" that is backed by some of the wealthiest individuals to have ever lived, or you're simply not equipped to grasp what's happening.

The combination of fascism covid more fascism genocide capitulation to fascism and the clear goal of AI tech bros to eradicate the workforce and make all jobs and future goals irrelevant as we all slide into poverty while eleven rich people become gods is really doing a number on us.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.
