THREAD: We recently heard that the Trump administration was leaning on the government of Gambia to help Elon Musk. For weeks, our team made phone calls, wrote letters and knocked on folks’ doors to try to confirm it. But we were stuck.

So our reporters got on a plane to Banjul. 1/

Ras Baraka is out
He's emerged. He's free! The crowd is crazy. No one will let him leave, so he takes the podium. Massive cheers. I can't hear a word he's saying.

This is terrible news! I have served on NSF panels, gone to excellent NSF funded conferences, and been the grateful recipient of NSF grants. Seeinf the destruction of the infrastructure of science support is heartbreaking !

We want to take a moment to talk about tariffs because honestly, we didn’t realize how bad it was getting until we started comparing notes with friends and family. Stores across the country are already raising prices, and some of the increases are steep.

I keep my head down and turn out good work and I just barely made rent this month, but a lady calls a kid the n-word at a playground and she raises a half-million dollars in a week. I don't get the world, and I don't like it. We are surrounded by rotten dogshit assholes and they're thriving.

(1/4) The CG is planning on removing/altering many AToN (Aids to Navigation) in the Northeast, citing "modernization". The public comment period for these proposed changes is open, and the best thing that people can do is make their voices heard.
The US Coast Guard has proposed the removal or alteration of HUNDREDS of navigational aids from New Jersey to Maine.

Visual (& audible) reference points are critical for marine navigation. Reliance solely on electronics is reckless & WILL impact public safety.

Musk’s staffers are now forcing federal employees at several agencies including the FAA to sign non-disclosure agreements. The goal is simple: silence the resistance through more threats and now, forced agreements. Maybe we’re not supposed to be talking about being forced to sign NDAs… oops, lol.
