It's not a good excuse - you are right. It is one variable in why there's a struggle with being a partner.

I may not have been through exactly what you went through, I can empathize with some things for sure. Have you tried therapy? I only say that because it helped me tremendously in my relationships with everyone even myself.

I think being a good partner is a difficult mystery to crack since most of us (men and women) don't have many examples of what that looks like or a clear definition of what it is.
This! I only date good men & even they still just don’t get what being a good partner is. I have great dates & individual moments but as a whole, I haven’t met anyone I can see myself committed to.
Had to emphasize that! I’ve been treated very well by men this year and I wanted to share that men can treat you right and STILL not be your person!

As far as finding the one - It will happen. I just battle with thinking too much and thinking it won't happen due to x, y, z.
It'll find you when you least expect it. I was trying to be a ho in my city when I met my wife. Meeting her made me dead that idea and lock in.

I tried a the "ho" phase quote unquote. The years where one would even do that were screwed over by my dorkyness, me being overweight and living at home longer than I should have due to complex family dynamics (family falling apart, financial issues, etc)
