Impossible to understate how much Trump II is an elite rebellion against the structures that gave them everything for basically no reason beyond entitlement and boredom, imho.
You took away their toys for four years by voting for functioning governance and they want to punish you for that.

Louder for the folks in the back!
There are people who are ideologically opposed to my values and they will never see my humanity. I will never reach them.

But the wellbeing of soul demands I never forget the humanity lest I become what I despise.

gwen: its amazing how liberals have turned losing supporters into a virtue and appealing to voters into a vice. they want to surrender any chance of winning over red state voters (and thus of winning red states, which they need to do) simply because they're too attached to the feeling of superiority

Yes, we call them useful idiots.
there's a weird branch of very online commentators who think that knowledge inherently only empowers harmful uses and really just wishes nobody has a concept of bad things
Those who assume that since I work on drones, I must work on killing civilians:

did it ever occur to you that the people who work on *stopping* civilians from getting killed or oppressed with drones (like me) also need to know a ton of technical information about how drones work?

in all seriousness: one of the most important philosophical questions of our time
It does seem to be getting out of hand.

How does a society reestablish the cultural taboo against lying out out of your ass?

Other kids called Trachtenberg a bitch, but in our group of child stars, we all wanted to be like her.

Even baseball is affected by Trumpflation.
I am told that Nolan Ryan’s Guinness record of 100.9 mph, which stood for many years, equates with modern technology to 108.1.

it is very telling that “BIOS”, in addition to being an acronym, is also the Greek word for “life”. meanwhile, “UEFI” is, of course, ancient Greek for “unified extensible firmware interface”

in this house, we have heckin' doggos, we adult like a boss, we drink IPAs, we listen to Matt and Kim, and we also are apparently the only age cohort meaningfully committed to liberal democracy

Except for the IPA drinking (IPAs are gross, don’t @ me) and the heckin’ doggos, this describes our household.

The terrifying and possibly counterproductive school shooter drill - The Boston Globe
Almost every school in America practices for the day a gunman roams the halls. But it’s unclear if they’re doing this wisely — or whether they should be doing it at all.

31. Killdozer: The True Story of the Colorado Bulldozer Rampage, by Patrick Brower

Written by a local reporter in Granby, who was a victim of the attacks, I won’t say this is a pleasant read, but it’s really informative to the events. If you think Killdozer Guy was actually cool, you are a sucker.

This is 100% correct, and it’s because the large corporate employers have legal/HR teams whose job is to reduce risk, and abusive employee practices are risk.

“Small” businesses don’t have those and often are dependent on abusing employees to make the business actually work as a going concern.
as someone who’s worked in the service industry, every job ive had at a small business has been more exploitative and abusive than the ones at corporate joints. trumps biggest base of support is from petty tyrant small business owners. if you want to consume ethically, support worker cooperatives
