We have the proven technology to address many of the externalities of driving:

-Speed cameras
-Congestion pricing
-Demand based parking pricing

Failure to implement these policies is no longer a shortcoming of knowledge, but rather political will.

In the Netherlands, where the Dutch invest in safe cycling, the over-65s cycle around a quarter of their journeys, while the over-80s cycle around 10% of theirs.

Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and cycle lanes don't 'restrict freedom', they expand it.

Yes, Mr. President: You’re right. We do have “the worst health care” of any major country.

Despite spending twice as much per capita, we are the only major country not to guarantee health care to all as a human right.

The solution: Medicare for All.

This is a joke about dumb poor Kentuckians.

A close read however, shows how many people in Kentucky want to vote for a %#!? socialist, they’ve reached out to their local electoral officials to make sure that they can.

Tell me again how we need to be a little racist to attract rural red voters.

dodger stadium's 16,000-spot parking lot is so huge, it could fit ~10 more dodger stadiums in its place. a monument to socal's asphalt addiction more than to baseball.

meanwhile in toronto, an actual walkable, bustling city exists around the stadium

Each county in the Bay Area has its own hotline for reporting and verifying ICE activity. In Alameda County, it's ACILEP at (510) 241-4011, in San Francisco, it's Rapid Response at 415-200-1548.

For other counties see immigrants.sf.gov/help/rapid-r...
If you live in San Francisco, today is a good day to familiarize yourself with the San Francisco Rapid Response Network, which has a 24-hour hotline for reporting ICE raids, actually verifies those raid reports, and does attorney activation: sfilen.org/resources/sf...

Some have argued that traffic cameras are a regressive tax on low-income people. While I agree that fines could be somewhat commensurate with income, maybe people of any income could just stop driving 15 mph above the speed limit?
The fact that SF cameras have already caught thousands of people going more than 15 miles over the speed limit is a perfect illustration of why these cameras were needed in the first place. www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/s...
