Stopped at the drugstore to buy a couple of Covid tests and the cashier said that was a "hot ticket item" this week that everyone had been buying... 🥴😷

You know how people (I’m people) will honk their car horns in appreciation as they drive past righteous protesters?

Please don’t do that now!

The switch is flipped. Horns = ICE PRESENCE. We all go into high(er) alert mode.

Clear your damn sidewalks people. And make sure your storm drains are clear. Its therapeutic and makes your community safer.
With snow and cold on the horizon, today would be a great day to break up stubborn ice on our sidewalks that's been lingering for far too long, making us all unsafe

Well, never seen that before.

Caucuses are how the DFL decides who is going to be our next governor (candidate). If you want someone that will rise to the moment we are in, get involved now.

Dex's training is a good place to start.
I am still conducting my Caucus 101 Trainings, the first of which is TOMORROW, January 12th, at 6PM. I'm amending the presentation to talk about what to do about ICE at Caucuses, too. Register here: us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...

If you've never caucused before and want to learn, please attend!
Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: Caucus Training for A Better DFL. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.
This training will go over the caucus process, the resolutions process, and how you can participate.

Timeline Cleanse: Please enjoy this photo of a praying mantis that was sitting on top of my car windshield, but the angling and lighting were so weird it looks like a giant praying mantis wandering a corn field in Iowa.

Ask not what your representative will do for you (nothing), ask how you can make your representative so miserable they quit their job
My attitude on this is that I'm not calling them because I think I can change their minds.

I'm calling them because it is unthinkable to let them do this without hearing how evil and awful they are.

My spite powers me. If I can get just 500 people a day to join me, we could fuck up their day.
I call Tommy Tuberville every fucking week, multiple times a week, because he can be evil but I don't have to let him do it without pushback.

So I don't need to hear excuses. I call the dumbest senator in the country. 😂

Evening update; second shoveling much lighter and easier to manage. I'm expecting all my work to be undone by the wind by the time the suns back up. 🌬☃️
Shoveling report from the west metro; there's a layer of slush which made already wet and heavy snow even wetter and heavier. It also sticks to the shovel which made things challenging. ❄

After ICE did this in Illinois, the Secretary of State revoked the plates, sent a cease and desist to ICE, threatened to suspend rental car licenses for allowing ICE to swap plates and set up a tip hotline to report plate tampering.

MN deserves the same action.

Personally I've found the best method is shovel and then use a push broom to remove all the snow especially if any had been walked on and stuck to the pavement. Then there's no need for salt or grit.

The city needs to follow its own advice though. I've seen literal piles of salt out there.
Physical removal of snow is your best defense for keeping sidewalks ice-free. Use salt sparingly — more salt does not make it work better or faster. In extreme cold, use sand for traction since salt only works when pavement is warmer than 15°F. More tips: https://bit.ly/450rmgD

They are probably going to consider the name ABOLISH ICE too political to be considered but I'm submitting it anyway.
