we will eventually have to come to terms with the fact that a significant majority of american (at least) christians believe in a religion of the paterfamilias and not of God, and that to be "countercultural" in that environment will not be going along with 95% of it but handing them a rosary

Since Megyn Kelly is Catholic, I look forward to the new Dr Taylor Marshall livestream on how we need “less dialogue, more keys” from bishops, or Fr Z blog post on the need for a Canon 915 excommunication, or T.S. Flanders of OnePeterFive calling for “the charitable anathema”
Megyn Kelly on alleged war crimes: "I really do kind of not only wanna see them killed in the water, whether they're on the boat or in the water, but I'd really like to see them suffer. I would like Trump and Hegseth to make it last a long time so they lose a limb and bleed out."

I have an idea that may be lucrative, and I offer it free of charge: a book of Trump iconography. It would appeal to members of the church, so to speak, and also to people who would like these things documented, to marvel at, and shudder at.

As an aside, we wouldn't know whether Nick was right or not, because the Trump Administration discontinued the annual federal hunger survey
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Interesting how as the racial demographics of who died of ODs shifted to white people it went from "Darwin awards" and "Just say no" to "We need to murder every single person even approaching the united states that we suspect of having drugs".

Rich Lowry is a bigoted piece of shit whose existence makes America a worse place. He's vapid patrician gentility used to mask gutter racism. He's a Brooks Brothers pocket square used to wipe Nick Fuentes' ass.

This reminds me of Cardinal John Henry Newman's book Definition of a Gentleman. I often cite Newman's book because it's so instructive. The term gentleman is so overwrought and frequently abused, but to the degree it means anything at all, I think Newman captures it here:

A fiery excerpt from St. Basil the Great's homily on today's Gospel reading, Luke 16:12-21 (the rich man who tears down his barns so as to build new ones):

Republicans are like "oh, you want to reduce easily preventable death? That pales in comparison to my strategy: Submitting to Christ" and then don't submit to Christ.
So many crazy details in Ben Terris's story about Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski, who we can confirm are not only dating but running DHS together: nymag.com/intelligence...

I mean the thing that Summers resigned over is directly admitting that he was pressuring students into sex (while making racist little jibes about her!) in an email to his notorious paedophile buddy. I do wonder how one could not be incredibly embarrassed to run this kind of pedantry in this case.

when I was young, i used to wonder how people like this would fare in life, as they didn't seem suited for gainful employment. it turns out, the internet allowed them to accumulate a massive audience of similar idiots, enriching them and turning them into a presidential advisor

BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
Zohran Mamdani’s socialism violates Catholic Social Teaching, full stop. On the other side, should billionaires be allowed to buy elections? Well, friends, this is a matter of prudence

I feel that a lot of commentators could do to acquaint themselves with the theological sense of the word "scandal", namely conduct which leads others into sin or confusion.
It's scandalous, in that sense, for party leaders to not defend their party's nominee from Islamophobic libels
yeah absolutely. absolutely normal endorsement cycle where the party chairman threatens to resign over the governor's endorsement, the office of the Speaker of the House is making threats, and the junior senator goes on a podcast blind drunk to give a racist rant. www.politico.com/news/2025/09...
