My most fervent belief about mechsploitation is that it is, first and foremost, an *audience*. A bunch of sicko lesbians who value good prose, fucked-up kinks, and potent erotic horror. And I have a lot of hope that the audience will outlive any particular genre trappings

This is something a lot of lefty "follow the money" folks don't fully understand. Yes, the billionaires buying out our media want to use it as a bargaining chip with Trump, but they also genuinely want influence. They want to be loved and admired by the literati and glitterati.
I know that everyone is like “oh the whole point of this is to destroy CBS, they actually want to run it into the ground” and I’m sure plenty of folks will be happy if they do

but David Ellison and Bari Weiss don’t want that! they really think they’ve got something! they are just very bad at this
Bari Weiss’ much-hyped CBS News town hall with Erika Kirk was a massive ratings flop

Socialization theory has been so utterly mangled that people don't fundamentally understanding it's not Girl or Boy Programming, it's absorbing the dominant cultural values we grow up with.

If you grow up in a patriarchal society, you are socialized patriarchal.
My spicy socialization take is that we mostly use the phrase "female socialization" to refer to raising someone to be a people-pleaser so they don't get hit, and as people constantly at risk of getting hit, trans femmes receive it as much as anyone else
“Male Socialization” of trans femmes isn’t a real thing. Invoking it just shows you’re a bozo trying to misgender us.

Trans people were never really socialized as our AGAB. At best, we were pressured to mimic norms that gave us dysphoria.

It’s an obvious TERF / Blanchardist dog whistle. Do better.

There’s this thing I like to call LinkedIn writing where people describe some normal ass daily experience as if they’re telling a grand parable that always has to end with how this experience is actually good for the business grindset mindset
