This is horrific! It's absolutely inexcusable to arrest a 5 year old child!
🤔I just have a few questions... what if the child is Black though? Is it still cruel?
Is it also cruel to send Black kids as young as 7 to juvenile detention facilities in other states, so that their moms can't even visit?

When I was eighteen years old, I called my local Democratic representative asking him to support a local queer rights initiative. The person on the phone said, "queers are 4%; evangelicals are 31%. I'm not losing my re-election on a morals fight." That was 30 years ago; they haven't really improved.
I think the thing that told me everything I needed to know about the Democratic party is when Bush administrations implemented numerous erosions of our fundamental rights in the name of Homeland Security and gave corporations personhood, and Dems did nothing to roll this back when they could have.
