Tech oligarchs oppose the idea of any supposedly undeserving person getting financial help from the government in 2025. But they want you to believe they’ll give *everyone* free money in the future.

It doesn’t make any sense, but it’s the techno-utopian lie they will keep selling.

Militarily unnecessary. Indiscriminate.
Disproportionate.
Deliberately cruel.

In other words, criminal.

I am not sure which sounds worse 500,000 people a month or 1/2 a million people a month.
Either way it is a National (party) disgrace in a country of 5.3 million people

If you joined InternetNZ to help stop the takeover by rhe FSU and Hobson's Pledge, you've done some great work tonight

Consider bringing that energy to other civil society organisations, groups like Voices for Freedom are also trying to take advantage of low participation to push their agenda

Recommend extending this attitude into multiple areas within your community. Run for your school and community boards, join your local PTA, fuck, run for council!

Show up to counter the fascist cunce.
Incredibly heartening seeing everyone on here with InternetNZ membership live-threading the AGM

People are really showing up for these fights, and even if we *lose* some of these, the experience, community and resilience gained from this sort of activism is invaluable

I think this is probably the kind of thing that needs more public buy-in, eh? Especially in the current climate. An office upgrade and a permanent position?? Wtf are the FBI even doing here in the first place?

This is institutionalised foreign interference.

Exactly. Is New Zealand a satellite state of the US now? According to its website, the role of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is "exposing, preventing, and investigating intelligence activities, including espionage, IN THE US".

By 2030, 1 in 4 women in developed countries will remain childfree.

Up to 45% will be single by choice.

Society will frame this as a crisis.
Governments will panic over birth rates.
This is about choice though…

It's about women walking away from the roles that kept men comfortable and powerful.

wild to me to have no agenda to grow a tanking economy other than tax cuts to landlords and businesses, make it harder to get a benefit, make active choices that punish people struggling, and then create instant $1000 fines for shoplifting.

shit is vile.

All the fear about running on progressive policies due to being labelled a socialist are surprisingly ineffective when you actually stick to your policies and don't abandon them because you are trying to appeal to a centre that doesn't exist.

I was briefed on the intelligence last week.

Iran posed no imminent threat of attack to the United States. Iran was not close to building a deliverable nuclear weapon. The negotiations Israel scuttled with their strikes held the potential for success.
