Demanding that people get punished for their words of protest while staying silent about or even supporting the actual atrocities and, yes, genocide occurring is one of the most disgusting political features of this goddamned era.
This story from @nirhasson.bsky.social demonstrates not only the scale of the carnage (at least 4% of Gaza's population) but the truly unprecedented targeting of civilians. Women and children account for 56% of those killed - more than twice their share in Sudan, Syria and Iraq.

I wonder who will be prioritized for denaturalization? Such a mystery. /s
The White House has ordered the US Dept. of Justice to prioritize denaturalization: voiding the citizenship of US citizens.

Who will it denaturalize? "Any" case that it "determines to be sufficiently important".

Point 10 leaves the criteria opaque and arbitrary.

After 35 years of teaching history in New Hampshire, John Dube left the state he called home—driven out by threats and censorship under a law that bans the teaching of “divisive concepts” in schools.

He refused to stop teaching the truth.

Now he’s starting over in Vermont.

Weird how much they want women to be forced to have kids but don't want to do anything to help keep the kids alive and healthy.
Funding for investigating child sexual abuse and internet crimes against children; responding to reports of missing children; and preventing youth violence has been withdrawn indefinitely.

The Trump Administration’s War on Children
The administration is quietly putting America’s children at risk by cutting funds and manpower for investigating child abuse, enforcing child support payments, providing child care and much more.

STOP THE ACTUAL STEAL.
Bombshell in North Carolina: the state's GOP-dominated Court of Appeals just sided with the GOP candidate in last year's supreme court race.

Their decision would toss roughly 60,000 ballots (!) that have been counted, & likely hand the election to GOP instead of incumbent Dem Justice who won it.

There are reports that the entire team responsible for monitoring injury and death statistics was fired from the CDC yesterday. For those of us in gun violence prevention research, this is devastating. There are no comparable mechanisms in place to track deaths. www.bradyunited.org/press/doge-c...

Seriously: arrest him. The governor should have state police arrest him and charge him with election fraud. Then immediately hold a press conference explaining you arrested someone for committing election fraud and will continue to do so. Just fucking arrest him already. You can actually do this

A great quote from a Harvard Crimson op ed: "If Columbia or another university confronts the administration on its own, it will lose. If America’s nearly 6,000 universities and colleges launch a campaign in defense of higher education, odds are that Trump will lose." We must fight NOW.
This is not an exaggeration at all.

Read this, and then do the most meaningful thing you can to resist it:

(1) Join @aaup.bsky.social to help fight on national level,

(2) Organize, organize, organize with your AAUP chapter at your university level.

Now.

The work to track these abducted Ukrainian children was canceled along with the vast majority of foreign aid contracts. We're also asking WHY???
Russia kidnaps Ukrainian children and gives them to Russians to erase their heritage and demoralize Ukraine. Over 20,000 so far. And the US just stopped helping track these kids and likely deleted the database of all the research. Pure evil, right maga?

The New York Times is the first to put out comprehensive estimates on the cost of a year without U.S.A.I.D. and they’re higher than I thought:
- 1.65 million deaths from AIDS
- 500,000 from lack of vaccines
- 550,000 from lack of food aid
- 290,000 from malaria
- 310,000 from TB
Killing children is by design, I'm afraid. "Pro-natalists" like Musk claim they aren't racist, but their pressure to have children is solely focused on white women, while they back policies that literally kill of non-white children.
