I think MN leaders first not calling in the state guard to protect people and then being investigated by DOJ for conspiracy to obstruct ICE is proof enough that being meek in the face of tyranny doesn’t work. Dems need to remove Schumer from leadership & replace with a fighter.

The New York Times investigated 346 people who donated at least $250,000 to Trump and found that more than half of them (197) have received pardons, jobs, government contracts, special treatment, or favors.
Hundreds of Big Post-Election Donors Have Benefited From Trump’s Return to Office
Well into his second term, the president and his allies have continued aggressively raising money. Many donors have interests before his administration, The Times found.

Ran across a letter I sent to my cast from over 8 years ago about what they could expect if we didn't fight tooth and nail to stop Trump. It's chilling in its forecasting of where we are literally today... (they didn't seem to care at the time-- actors, amirite? 🤷🏽‍♂️)

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Fun fact! We could be using the $75 billion allocated for ICE on literally anything else! Like essential services that help people exist! It’s almost as if these issues + our priorities have a lot of overlap!

Also people definitely can’t afford things if they get shot in the face!

This whole thread on limits of/on the Insurrection Act is helpful. "What's happening in MN is not a rebellion & there's no argument otherwise. No one is trying to topple the government of the state of MN." In fact, it's federal govt, not insurrectionists, undermining citizens' constitutional rights.
So with everything happening in Minnesota, I feel like some people need an explanation of what the Insurrection Act is and isn't, along with martial law (which isn't the same and is very nebulous) from someone who knows what they're talking about. Buckle up.

I mean honestly, when it comes down to it all of us are going to die one day. There is no avoiding that. If the choice is between covering in fear forever (and leaving your children to cower in fear forever) or dying to make them safe then any decent person knows what they have to do.

This is the most thrilling podcast I’ve listened to in quite a while: we are in the threshold of something truly transformative (in a good way!)
Today on Volts: Swedish tech entrepreneur Jonas Birgersson was once known in his country as "broadband Jesus" for his efforts in spreading decentralized, low-cost broadband access. Now, he wants to bring the same decentralized, peer-to-peer revolution to the electricity grid.
Making the electricity grid work like the internet
Jonas Birgersson joins me to explain how "packet-switching" for electrons can lead to energy abundance and grid resilience.

When this is over, all of Trump’s enablers—corporations, the media, law firms, Republicans in Congress—will act as if nothing happened. Time to move on, they’ll say. Let’s have a fresh start, they’ll say. Sorry guys, ain’t gonna happen.

Good morning.

A regular reminder: a tiny few hoard staggering wealth and own much of the media, while millions struggle to survive.

That’s not an accident. It’s a choice made by those in power.

Tax wealth. Fund public services. Build an economy for everyone - not the 1%.

Everything is terrible. Here's something today that brought me joy in my community:

I discovered that my local library has a seed library. You can use them to start your own garden, and they encourage you to let some of your plants go to seed and bring seeds back. I did that this morning!

This isn't just a casual observation. Fascism scholars have long made this point. It's why calling them "weird" was a more effective strategy than talking about the prices of eggs. Fascism is an aesthetic political movement - you need to make people feel embarassed and horrified by it.
one of the most effective weapons we have against fascism is mockery, especially when its really funny
It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.

📣 Release the Trump / #Epstein files!

The regime has failed to release any docs in 2026. The Epstein Files Transparency Act required all files be made public & deliver an explanation for redactions.

We also need Epstein & co-conspirator financials from Treasury!

When telling the truth about the law becomes grounds for censure, the problem is not with the officer who spoke. It is with those who fear what the law requires. That is not a standard any democracy—or any professional military—can afford to accept.

Five years ago, Donald Trump instigated a violent insurrection in the Capitol to prevent Congress from certifying Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 election. The fact that the GOP coddled him, protected him, renominated him, and now support him in office, is a stain that will never be erased.
