The elite Texas Gravy Seals coming to graze in Chicago
This photo of red troops from Texas invading Illinois over a fake emergency is raising some significant questions for those who watched the televised address Pete Kegstand gave to hundreds of generals, admirals and commanders recently, a speech that already lives in infamy as the "No Fatties Speech"

We need to EXPAND Social Security, not cut it.

Israel’s recent strike in Yemen reportedly killed 31 journalists – one of the deadliest attacks on the press in over a decade.

As we fight to protect the freedom of the press at home, we must also do so abroad.

She’s right

And to think just a few weeks ago the official Dem line on what we’re all going to do about this was summed up in the single word “Abundance”
I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

as fascist paegentry, the DC parade left a lot to be desired. There wasn't very much martial (marshall?) music. The soldiers -most in fatigues, not dress uniforms- didn't goose-step or high-step. More like they were strolling. they weren't in sync 1/2

Newsom’s speech was good, struck the right tone. Hopefully it has an impact though I can’t imagine Congress being shamed into action

As breakups go, pretty entertaining.

But we should watch for how it affects the coalition between the libertarian big tech wing (Musk/Peter Thiel et al) and the MAGA wing (Steve Bannon). Recall in December the big blowup over H1Bs; this will surface that tension even more, especially 1/2

One way of looking at Trumpism is, it’s not a coherent program it itself, but a matter of removing constraints from all the little tyrants - cops, bosses, right-wing governors, patriarchal fathers - who already exist throughout the country.

Cause the senate doesn’t work for us
Sometimes you just have to ask—why? The Senate voted to strike down a rule capping most bank overdraft fees at $5, a measure introduced by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that was expected to save Americans billions each year.
