Judge Kacsmaryk writes to say that the First Amendment only protects "public discourse necessary to self-government," as he slurs drag and holds it not protected.

This is the definition of what Kavanaugh thinks a good stop is. He was detained, based on his accent, and then released after they checked his papers (which presumably Kavanaugh does not carry with him).
He was detained in front of his five year old child, who told him "I don't want to lose you."
This ICE agent and the man he’s accusing of not being a US citizen have the same damn accent. If this were a movie, this scene would be on the cutting room floor.

When Democrats folded in the last government shutdown—rescuing the GOP majority from itself and helping them pass a budget, giving validation to the Trump administration’s lawbreaking—the savvy politics knowers explained that folding was clearly worth it because it got the Epstein Files released.
No federal judge has the power or authority to make DOJ comply with the mandatory provisions of the Epstein Act, says Pam Bondi. It's unenforceable and meaningless. Essentially, DOJ is a lawless if not criminal enterprise, not a law enforcement agency, at this point.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

The fact that Vanity Fair hired Nuzzi after she *admitted in her book* to helping RFK get a role in the Trump administration is one of the most damning indictments of elite media I've ever seen.

Not only is VF sweeping it under the rug but no one else in elite media seems perturbed by it either!
At the very least, these big media pubs have some explaining to do

A lot more people should be ostracized from academia.

If you write articles saying that the 14th amendment doesn’t mean what it plainly states so you can help an authoritarian denaturalize millions of people, fellow academics should not co-write w you, invite you to be on panels, etc.
Three generations of law professors making history up is enough.

Scholars spend decades researching and writing history with nuance and care.

American law professors will take a couple of months to relearn all of science to explain why the world is, in fact, flat.

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

Over the last year the entire "free speech on campus" beat has been revealed as an utter fraud. Years of punditry puked out in ignorance and bad faith.

Yet even as the fraud becomes undeniable we still get stories about wide-eyed idealists who just wanted 'ideological diversity' and 'open debate'.

Decent story but infuriating that this is still being cast as a good-faith institution that failed to achieve its lofty goals rather than a fundamentally cynical right-wing project.

Look what Bari Weiss is doing to CBS! Why would you assume her goal here was any different?

Not a single shred of evidence that these views are widely shared on the American left.

It's true that the Iranian uprising hasn't gotten a lot of attention but that's mostly because the Minneapolis ICE shit is so enraging, not because we support the regime. Come the fuck on.

Part of what's so enraging about these stories is that these authors never actually seem to care about the underlying stories they claim "the left" should be more vocal about. Has Gal Beckerman been talking about the Iranian opposition for the past few years? No, he just wants to left punch.

It is not "pedantic" to acknowledge that a college protest against Iran makes zero sense. Protests are typically against things, not in favor of rights movements in other countries!

The purpose of “So How Come College Students Aren’t Protesting Iran, Huh?” is not a sincere desire to direct attention to the Iranian struggle.

It is intended to shame college students for their recent protests against Israel and ICE.

Exactly. Dems keep trying to pivot the conversation back to affordability but what is their signature policy on this issue? Once we’re finally talking about it they have nothing to say.
aside from the obvious problem with this strategy, do dems really want to own a part of this economy when there is likely nothing they can do about it?

The entire premise of this article is a conservative-fluffing myth. Cities have more political power because that's where most people live!

So many people just remembered Trump 1.0 where a lot of the worst stuff didn't happen (because it was blocked by the skin of our teeth and the public never knew how close things got to being bad), and just presumed 2.0 would be the same level of bluster and things mostly staying the same. Nope!
It's wild to watch people like Joe Rogan come to grips that voting for the "mass deportations now" candidate meant voter for a literal war against your non-White neighbors. The entire discussion around the 2024 campaign was so fundamentally unserious it might as well have happened in a fever dream.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.
