According to a couple of psychiatrists, I ~*probably*~ don't have ADHD because MDD (which I absolutely have, childhood onset) has many similar symptoms: easily distracted, poor executive function, difficulty maintaining interest in things. My psychiatrist started me on guanfacine anyway.

I'm hugely relieved that I made it to 40 without getting pregnant, accidentally or pressured into it. No ticking body clock, no doubts. I assumed I'd "have to" one day and there's not a day I'm not profoundly grateful that I didn't.

Occasionally I'll get people who proclaim they don't take any drugs. Ok, idc, but they say this in a tone that implies they are better people because of it. To me, it means one of 2 things: you never fall ill, which is mostly luck, or, more likely, you do but refuse to treat it. That's just dumb.
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Bird lovers don't keep birds in cages for shits and giggles. It's so they don't fly into windows or chew electrical cords or get hit by ceiling fans. Or worse, escape into a totally foreign ecosystem where they'll be sitting ducks for cats and hawks.

This is just a few minutes from my old Congressional office. Local high school has a 97% graduation rate, Netflix is opening a $1B movie studio down the road, and Bruce Springsteen was born and raised around the corner (and still lives there). So yeah…tell me more.
