We need to bring back 1st wave coffee shops. Draw the menu on a blackboard, fill the place with mismatched thrift store furniture and fill a cup with the most burned-ass drip french roast for $2. Have a high school kid out front playing chess with a homeless guy. Bonus if a stray cat wanders around.

People think of California as a very liberal place bc Dems own the state government but actually it’s a fairly center left place with a Republican Party that is completely unhinged.
While many Dem policy failings can be traced to the GOP & allied interests, a better critique of Democrats is that they fail to undo this stuff or really fight back even when they hold power. Why haven't CA Dems repealed Prop 13 or banned oil drilling in urban areas?
