I personally believe if we want to try and dress up using AI gen to "speed up production" as if that is the real concern, we should instead be more okay with reusing already existing assets made by actual humans, rather than generating from a pool of stolen assets at a massive energy cost

100%. If you want an alternative slogan you can go with "Abolish ICE before they kill again."
the only reason "abolish ICE" is seen as radical is that no one will say it but the far left. if every normie Democrat started saying it tomorrow it would move the overton window so far you'd have to squint to find it. my kingdom for leaders who understand they can shape public opinion.
Democrats officially going all in on the mealy mouthed “ICE needs training” narrative.

No. ABOLISH ICE.

Some of this is grifting, but a bunch of it is pure fascist resentment: if I like or approve of something, this implies a liberal/judeo-bolshevik conspiracy to suppress it. The existence of such a conspiracy requires no evidence, it simply must be.
I thought this was a joke but it’s an actual post from the White House: “we are ending the war on protein”

How about ending the war on the health of this country?

To a lot of people the statemrnt "Grok creates CSAM" will read as a "tech headline" they bypass.

"Grok creates child porn" is a much more visceral statement that will grab someone's attention and THEN you can explain why we don't use that term anymore.

So one thing wrt the Grok/CSAM issue.
When talking about it with "not very online" people consider using the outdated term "child porn." At least initially.
Lots of people don't know what "CSAM" means and you need to make it clear that it's child porn to them at the outset.

Everyone is blaming the Mercator projection but there might be a sillier reason Trump thinks Greenland is key to North American security (though admittedly I always saw him as more of a Monopoly guy)

Since 2016, I've been telling people that Trump is emotionally exoskeletal. There are no hidden depths, no secret heart. You can trust that what he says at any given moment is exactly what he feels *at that time*. It might change; it likely will. He's an emotional amoeba lurching between impulses.
All art about Trump will end up being pro-Trump propaganda simply by virtue of writers and directors giving him more depth than he has. There really is nothing else there. He's just a mobster. He has *no* depth. Zero. None. He likes steak and blondes and gold. That's all there is to him.

It's fun because, like, the "all men suck" - obviously stupid, no shit

"i cannot tell at a glance which men are not shit" - something that men absolutely *refuse* to fucking grasp 90% of the time, and it drives me mental
I’ll die on the hill that “all men suck” is, in general, baby’s first feminist thought, which is distressing considering that’s where most people’s feminist awakening seems to end.

Frankly, if you frame life as men bad and women good, you’re basically begging to get hurt by other women as they perpetuate the structures of misogyny against you, while also preventing yourself from finding love with men, who can actually be really lovely (including cis men).

the entire administration is making content for twitter nazis and they are convinced that those twitter nazis are genuinely representative of the vast majority of american sentiment

they believe all the election conspiracies and think the country is 80-20 in their favor
The response to the ICE killing of Renee Nicole Good is not what the White House was expecting.

Like with their hiding of the Epstein files, part of the fundamental problem they are facing is that the stories the Trump administration has built their movement on are being shown for their emptiness.

So we're clear, if you are an infertile cis man who adopts his partner's kids you can be on the birth certificate but if you are a trans man you can't, is that what this judge has ruled?

In case you've seen the story about “grok now only generates images for paid users”, it's untrue. Apparently everyone just reported it because… it was what grok told them 🤦🏼

No, Grok hasn’t paywalled its deepfake image feature
X’s sexual deepfake machine is still running, despite Grok saying otherwise.

Over and over again the story is the same. Building social housing works, building renewable energy works, building schools and hospitals works. Government can do good things. The Thatcherite consensus of mewling self-imposed incapacity is wrong.
“Uruguay did what most nations still call impossible: it built a power grid that runs almost entirely on renewables—at half the cost of fossil fuels. The physicist who led that transformation says the same playbook could work anywhere—if governments have the courage to change the rules.”
