I think a lot of people who weren't online and involved in dealing with channers/Gamergate etc. haven't understood until now how deeply depraved the right is

Sadly, this is not at all unusual. There have been numerous incidents where cops screamed contradictory instructions at terrified citizens and then shot them for disobeying one of the edicts.

Just so you know, this extra $500 billion is enough to END POVERTY using a negative income tax with a 50% phaseout rate. It's also FIVE TIMES the cost of the enhanced child tax credit that cut child poverty in half, that was just too costly to make permanent according to all Republicans + Manchin.
