Kitsap County has defied the will of WA State’s Growth Management Act, by encouraging rural housing development over urban infill. The State has ‘remanded’ 4 of Kitsap’s last 5 Comp Plans for failing to address sprawl.

PSRC and WSDOT are complicit w their poor transpo funding decisions.

Okay, online hivemind: What are the lowest hanging fruit for quick fixes for safe streets in Seattle?
Mayor Mamdani brought an end to the Williamsburg Bridge "bump," which he described as a "veritable gauntlet of cycling punishment." This is only the beginning of a $70-million overhaul of this section of Delancey that will start this fall. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/01/06/g...

Sneckdowns*, Utrecht style.

*What the heck is a sneckdown?
A sneckdown, or snow neckdown, is a temporary lane created by snowfall, where snow has built up in the road but not been flattened by bike traffic, effectively reshaping the curb. A sneckdown shows how much road space a bike (or a car) use.

This is such a great speech. Cities are wonderful and its great to see someone truly believing in that finally in charge here again

This was my favorite part of her fantastic speech. Affordability is more than a math problem: it creates the space for doing what we are all trying to do - build thriving, real, living relationships and lives that mean something.

Congratulations Mayor Wilson!

This is completely ridiculous. The state legislature is *full* of landlords and yet they’re apparently allowed to vote on tenant protection bills all the time.
In Santa Monica, the FPPC has disqualified pro-housing Councilmember Jesse Zwick from all future housing votes. They said that because he works for a housing non-profit, he’s “conflicted” and must recuse.

Pretty absurd. The NIMBY deep state strikes again.

Unacceptable that we allow tech companies to be test driving their vehicles on our city streets.
So we found out today in San Francisco that autonomous cars don't work in a blackout (Waymos shut down, wherever they were, all over city)

Participating in live experiments is fun! I still wish I'd been asked beforehand. But it is pretty wild and kind of cool to see them discover their edge cases.

I hate that the freeway runs right through the middle of the city. It's literally the densest populated place in the entire state, it should be for the people not for cars.

It is important to remember all the great things we have in WA State with transit & active transportation is all with funding that pales in comparison to highway expansion.

Imagine what we could if we right-sized the budget and stopped expanding highways! Let’s fix what we got & make it better.
