It wasn’t “architects” risking their lives to bolt those girders together. Several blue collar workers *died* during their construction of the Empire State Building.

It’s *our* lives the AI tech bros are risking.

Little Green Canal

One of those scenes that has the car screeching to a halt, crazed photographer grabbing bits and pieces in a mad dash to capture the moment before it twists away and is gone.

Amazon is making money off AI copies of books - and putting the onus on authors to prove they’ve been plagiarised.

Honestly, just stop buying books from Amazon. Get them from an actual bookshop or order them from a reputable book supplier like bookshop.org

Amazon Is the World's Biggest Online Book Marketplace. It's Filled With AI Knockoffs
Authors say Amazon's knockoff book problem is leaving them frustrated — and making the internet worse in the process.

It says a lot about how out of touch with reality this Labour government are, that they think people are overweight because they are eating too much in restaurants.

And yes, you will need to do some input scubbing and write a couple REST calls to talk to the LLM, but I couldn't care less if that's a small amount of extra work for the programmer. You program the field once, your customers use it a million times. There's no justification.

That's trivially easy to check with a less-than. The worst case is something like an honorific on a name. If all you do with that is print it out when the name is printed, let your customers call themselves whatever they want. I just don't see what problem we're solving.

Hey, writers.

Come here.

No, closer.

Okay, here’s a thing I always try to remember:

You can write 24 utterly straightforward words and some people will read only 18 of them, and in the wrong order.

And nothing on earth you ever do will fix that.
