My partner's before bed silly thoughts:
Why can't we put cottage cheese in pumpkin pie?
Why can't we breathe mayonnaise? We should have mayonnaise gills.

He gets worse when he falls asleep. I may have to write out the list of things he's said in his sleep before here at some point, they're fun

my boys, like many kids, are obsessed with pokemon and have binders of cards and it is almost completely impossible to find card packs at MSRP because the entire market has been bought up by scalpers

been following TCGs on and off for almost 30 years and this is about as bad as I’ve ever seen it
It is hilariously pathetic that they have to do this because gigantic scalper manbabies wont let kids have fun

Trying to find a replacement for Duolingo that's free and I hate that nothing else really competes. I learn the basics of languages for fun, I don't have the time or focus to pull multiple resources together and most subbed ones are not in my budget. If only they hadn't started using AI, ugh. 😖

Big Tech is offering you a Faustian bargain. It promises to remove all the friction from life, to keep you from having to think or study, and the result is your brain will become pudding, you’ll become incapable of creativity or communication. They want to make you a non-person.

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.

yeah i feel like in the near future, 5-10 years, we'll see a lot more value placed into people who actually did the work themselves and learned and studied, got an education, etc.

Vs the people who used ChatGPT for everything.

I’m putting this behind a graphic media warning label so you only have to look at it if you are uneducated about this, but here is the violently antisemitic cartoon they are mimicking. It is truly one of the most vile hate-images that exists and is used regularly by Nazis and the alt-right.

My mother told me I couldn't even draw a stick figure well even if I tried. 6-year old me took that as a challenge.

I still can't draw well but I do still draw and do art. Spite works. Also seeing what other people make and then going oooooooh and ahhhh at it helps
With all this awful news going on i wanna ask this question once again to fellow artists and general creatives. What got YOU into art? what sparked that motivation to start writing? what made you wanna pick up a camera and start taking pics? Like share with us your reasons.

Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

Appalachia is one of those places vulnerable to data centers because, as Coyote says, “Appalachian politicians often treat selling out their own people as if it is as much a region-specific tradition as banjos and apple butter on your cat-head biscuits.”

And finally, the assault on Section 230. This is the endgame for independent speech.

If you repeal 230, you don’t hurt Google or Meta—they have the lawyers to survive. You destroy the small forums, the independent blogs, the dissenters. You make the cost of speaking the truth too high to bear.
How Democrats’ Attack On Section 230 Plays Right Into Trump’s Censorial Plans
Like clockwork, lawmakers are once again rallying around the idea of eliminating Section 230. That Republicans are leading this charge is hardly surprising—repealing Section 230 is explicitly laid …

a society which will help the former but not the latter is depraved. You should not only be assisted by your (Democratic!) government in dying, you should be assisted by democratic governance in living in such a way that death is not the only option for how your pain will end.

You need to read this thread and you need to be calling every representative you have and threatening to literally never vote for them again and donate your time to getting them replaced if they do this.

If you don't, it's basically the end of the internet.
It’s very simple. Genuinely very simple. Until Section 230, it was the case that any website that allowed a user to publish any content of any kind could be sued if they said *anything* libelous or bad. That includes web hosts, blogging platforms, social media etc.
