We've prepared a zine version of our text "Melt ICE, Be Water,"
in which participants in a demonstration against ICE in Austin, Texas on June 9, 2025 describe how they escaped the control of party organizers who sought to control the protest, then evaded police for hours.

Print and distribute!

It's pretty irritating how many pundits would hear the ideas "I want to shove 100 live scorpions in your mouth" and "I want to shove 0 live scorpions in your mouth" and sagely declare: "The wisest course of action is to let someone shove 50 live scorpions in your mouth."

At no point in this entire article of 16 paragraphs does ABC mention that another cop killed this cop by shooting her in the back. Nor does it mention the name of the cop who killed this cop. Nor does it mention that the civilians involved never fired at them.

ABC might as well be state media.

Philly local tv station reporting that a man allegedly posed as an ICE agent in order to rob a car repair business office.
How many other criminals might be getting this idea right now, given that actual ICE agents are refusing to show IDs, warrants, badges?

A bike or skateboard helmet provides "good enough" protection from impact munitions. Not perfect, but they're cheap and lightweight.

WEAR A CUP to protect your private parts. I *never* go to protests without a cup. Cops target your groin more than any other body part.

Remember this iconic photo from Ferguson? This is Edward Crawford, throwing back a tear gas canister to protect some nearby kids.

Like many identified Ferguson protesters and organizers, he was "found dead" a couple years later and neither the cops nor the media will ever investigate.

Cold running water. That’s it. Everything else is a wives tale.

And for fuck’s sake don’t degrease your eyeballs with dish soap.
Tear gas and pepper spray are not acids. They don’t cause a burning sensation because they are acids. Using antacids is a placebo at best and, in your eyes, a cause of injury

Just a reminder that fascists, authoritarians, dictators of all stripes destroy archives— books, museums, databases, &c— because those things provide windows onto a plurality of other ways we might organize the world.

And so preserving, defending, and spreading that knowledge harms those regimes.

Can't ever forget how "Crime" & "criminality" are made up categories (like all categories) & how their definitions are, at present, completely captured & controlled by hegemony/status quo, & how the willful doublethink around those facts forms the root of a lot of our problems, in the US especially.
