Arnoldo Bazan, a 16-year-old U.S. citizen, was put in a chokehold by ICE agents.

Agents took his phone, which he tracked to a used electronics vending machine near an ICE detention center.

Yes: ICE is stealing and selling people’s things after brutalizing them. There are no words.

Maybe the best thing on the internet still? Certainly the most essential counter we have to our current shitstream of social media-driven misinformation.
Wikipedia is 25 today.

The lady in this photo is autistic and ICE agents dragged her out of her car as she tried to go to the doctor.
This isn't satire. This is a real headline published in the UK.

The politics in obaa aren't the problem, it's that pta was more focused on using the revolutionary politics more as set dressing rather than giving a coherent political thesis. It's not really a political film, it's a film about a dad trying to reconnect with his daughter.

It’s funny how Wikipedia used to seem relatively unreliable, because it was written by regular people instead of encyclopedia experts, and now it seems relatively reliable, because it’s written by regular people instead of glib CliffsNotes robots
wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

From now on servicewomen are banned from using language like “she’s developed an interest in submarines” when speculating about others’ proclivities.

Instead, consider working fun slang like “that’s nautical!” or “aquatic!” into conversations, reflecting positively on the sub-aqueous lifestyle.
