Creativity is like a houseplant, not an endless well. You need to seek out sunlight, water, and nutrients in art, shows, music, experiences, and more to tend to it. And just like plants it has its dormant and active periods and you may not seem improvement for some time.

a lot of creatives fall into the habit of monetizing everything they do and there's something to be said for making your creations into cash but its so important to keep some of your creations just for yourself because when it becomes IMPERATIVE to perform you're on the road to burnout

For me the goal in 2025 is this: amidst the work, amidst the chaos and the worry, amidst of all of what is to come and what is to be done about it... I am going to aggressively pursue joy both in my writing and out of it. Less a resolution, more a dogged, committed mission to seek joy big and small.
