I will NEVER vote for a politician who votes for anti-trans legislation. Never. I don't care who it is, it's a dead issue. Move on. If my vote is so important to the future of democracy they should have thought of that before they voted to exterminate my child.

Just a reminder that ICE didn't exist until 2002. It's not some longstanding institution that must be maintained. It was created as a knee-jerk reaction to 9/11, and it could be gotten rid of as easily as it was created.

As a LCSW who's worked with the chronically homeless to multimillionaires, I endorse this. My one amendment is that one person hoarding $100 million+ is far sicker and more harmful than one person's addiction or hoarding in their home. The damage to others is several orders of magnitude greater. 1/2
If you make a billion dollars — or $500 million or even $100 million dollars — and you keep trying to make more, then there is something seriously wrong with you. It's a mental illness akin to hoarding or drug addiction.

2025 was the year I reinvested in print news: The New Yorker, Wired, The Onion, the London Review of Books. (What can I say, I like long form.)
This is awesome. Print is such a good way to get around a bunch of distribution (and surveillance!) mechanisms that seem otherwise mandatory in this very gross economy. It is really nice to see it spelled out like this.
It works great for us, and it'll work great for other places!

insane local news just dropped. i've lived in a part of KC for ~decade and it's been an inside joke with friends and service workers that the local biz/party district is ran by a cartel of biz owners who bully out new ventures and replace them with generic dive bars for white suburbanites.

I am a little tired of being yelled at for this but apparently not tired about: heroin addiction is not RFK’s problem. He’s a sociopath. Most addicts aren’t. Honestly, walk into an NA meeting, grab the first person with a few years to be head of HHS and they’d probably do a better job than Bobby.
