I really miss mine. The 160gb iPod Classic was peak personal music experience.
Got this fantastically clever Christmas gift. It's a dedicated algorithm free music player that you can carry around without the distractions of your phone, and it can hold thousands of songs without needing an internet connection. The UI is so simple anyone can manage it. Fantastic

This aspect of LLMs is worse than just cringy - it confirms biases leading to bad analysis. It's one of the things that makes me wary of using it for research.
i'm fascinated by how much people love and are amazed by chat gpt saying "nice catch!" and "great observation!" because i personally find the condescension and obsequiousness the most skin-crawling thing about how LLMs "talk"
If we are banning cell phones for kids we need to be talking about banning chatbots for boomers

The more I look at that photo, the more convinced I am that Marco Rubio told the lamp they should have an open relationship, because he wanted to bang his secretary at the Xmas party.

Except the secretary wasn't up for it, and now the lamp just introduced him to its three new boyfriends.

doing this to someone should be as difficult and come with as many hoops for the company to jump through and safeguards for the customer as it would be for the bank to lock you out of your house even though you were totally up to date on your mortgage payments. it's that serious.
this piece is terrifying. it should be actually illegal to do this to people, it's extraordinary that it's not.

we are still treating 'the internet' as this fun place for entertainment rather than *it's as important as your house, it's where you live and work*.
