I love NoMA and made a conscious decision to live close to the density that years ago was destined, but as the article acknowledges, characterizing it as a YIMBY success story is pretty inaccurate.

one of the stranger phenomena in American life is that hate is supposed to flow in one direction (rural people get to hate urban people, Republicans get to hate Democrats) and if the hate goes the other way people pretend as if this is very upsetting.
The media made a HUGE deal out of "basket of deplorables" and "cling to their guns or religion."
But, of course, it will totally ignore Trump saying he hates Democrats: "I hate them. I believe they hate their country."

While the District’s population went up by 15% between 2010 and 2020, Lanier Heights’ population increased only 3%. A downzoning is a big part of the reason the neighborhood hasn't grown.

Eyes on the Prize is one of the best pieces of American public history ever produced. It's so frustrating that it isnt more available, given the era we live in. Eyes I streams on PBS and is on DVD. As far as I know Eyes II isn't available for streaming or on DVD. And now Eyes III will stream on Max.
I'm genuinely disheartened by the lack of reviews/coverage for "Eyes on the Prize III," which premieres on HBO tonight.
Sigh. This is, I guess, a "me" problem. But nothing you could watch this week is better.
