Maybe 15 years ago I was in Western Massachusetts with a partner who wanted to check out the Norman Rockwell Museum. I only knew of Rockwell as 1950s kitsch and had low expectations. As it happened, we showed up while an exhibit on Rockwell's Civil Rights legacy was on display. Blew my mind.

Major implications for mail-in voting (voters who are disproportionately older, white, members of the military, urban residents, and registered Democrats)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

Pro Tip: No one who matters cares.

If anything, the fact you have experience with “pretending to be/becoming something else” can only benefit you since you’re ready and willing to say What If even before you’ve stepped into a booth.

There are far worse people already in the industry in comparison.
I’d love to dive more into voice acting next year. I’ve done several jobs so I’m no beginner. But the VA landscape can be scary and I’d love to talk to others like me.

…but I can’t help but have this concern looming over my head. Vent artwork below.

…but really if you’re a furry VA, HI I’m here

It honestly fills my heart with dread that so many of the ads I hear, see, or read are all about gambling: casino apps, sports betting, loot boxes, etc.

How many people are having their lives ruined because of this?

A lot of people are trying to justify their own desire to surrender to Trump early in the year
I am annoyed by the persistence of 'resist libs are tired of resisting Trump' line.

No Kings put record-breaking numbers of people into the streets, specials/off-years are at D+10 or more.

I don't think the resist libs are tired. I think some writers are tired of writing about resist libs.

You'll be hard pressed to see Black folk ever fill out one of those "Where I'd live" state surveys because most of us have been around enough and know enough stories that we realize how where you live as a Black person is a complex and dangerous question that can literally vary by county lines.

As an added bonus, here’s Justice Scalia saying out loud, and in totally racist terms, exactly why Republicans have captured the Court: to have unelected partisans with lifetime appointments do the dirty work of striking down laws their political counterparts would repeal at their electoral peril

The tech bros will do everything in their power to prevent any regulation of AI, because regulation is a pin and AI is a bubble. And they are going to make America eat that loss somehow. Even as they sit on billions.
There’s a funny Politico story showing that the latest polling on AI shows 80-20 in favor of heavy regulations, an absolute slam dunk platform, but Dems are worried about not winning back mask-off tech CEO donors

"Content" is a blatantly misleading term to use for fanworks. Fanworks are the antithesis of content; content is produced for individual gain and consuming, whereas fanworks are created out of inspiration and the communal experience.

“Content” is a corpo-brain term, makes me cringe when I hear it in the wild.

You don’t make “content”, you make ART! You write STORIES. Its your WORK (and often play too)!

“Content” is the noise you flick through when trying to find a SHOW you like, don’t cheapen your work comparing it to SLOP. 😤

This is important. The algorithms want us angry because then we engage more (while screaming). It’s mostly useless, even if it can feel powerful.

Spread joy like fire. Fight hatred with reminders of love.

Thanks for the reminder, Brandon. 💖
A reminder for 2026:

in a time where internet algorithms are being trained on anger, & politicians & media outlets are learning how to capitalise on fear & hatred, the most radical thing you can do in public is SHARE MOMENTS OF JOY.

Share what you love as much as possible. Let gratitude be fire.
