There are going to be limits to what you can make other countries do by threatening to tax your own citizen's purchases of their products.

I believe handing over entire territories falls well beyond those limits.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Completely agree. A lot of Conservatives seem to think 'we are in bloc politics now' is a get out for 'therefore be as rightwing as we want' while not absorbing that you do, actually, need to be the clear leader in your bloc for that not to be the route to death.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

Samuel Alito flew two flags used by insurrectionists.

Clarence Thomas' wife plotted to overturn the 2020 election.

Both justices refused to recuse themselves from SCOTUS cases related to the January 6th plot.

It's a stain on our nation that this has effectively been forgotten.

Every single one of these homes started construction under Labour.

In terms of actual policy the Greens have slashed the number of Council homes to be built in the future by to 728 from 3012.

Britain has talked itself into a flat tailspin. Had weeks of ppl telling me that the country's on the verge of catastrophe. In reality real wages are rising and the economy growing. God alone knows what ppl would say if we went back to the early 80s, 17% interest rates and four million unemployed.

The president of the United States is using his phone-in time on a hyper partisan news station to insist America will determine the next ruler of Venezuela and suggest he might invade Mexico.
Trump: “Something will have to be done about Mexico,” says Donald Trump, after the capture of Nicolás Maduro and attacks on Venezuela

In an interview with Fox News, Trump assured that the cartels govern Mexico.

“I have asked her on numerous occasions: 'Do you want us to eliminate the cartels?'”

my theory: social media has whipped up impatience, scorn, hatred, anger, polarisation and frustration with anything other than immediate results
Glad the FT is asking the question. Even if I’m not convinced they found a compelling answer.
I get that Starmer & Reeves are unpopular, I really don’t understand the extent of the dislike.
