man, Jacob Tierney seems like a sweet and lovely person. he's generous and lovely about the romance genre, he makes good sex scenes, and he's protective of his actors.

I don't really do New Year's goals and whatnot, but think how much more manga I'd read if I read just one volume per week (that wasn't for work).

God it was lovely to watch Heated Rivalry and see a TV show using sex (good sex! not miserable, punishing sex that everyone hates!) to advance the story and character development. storytelling through sex is so fun and so good when it's good, and there are so many ways to fuck it up. I love romance.

most famously fat is a store of resources built up in rich times and drawn down in lean times. but it's also a protective layer against external shock, an anti-wear substance distributed throughout the system, it both retains and generates heat for homeostasis—and these uses do not consume it!

I'm enjoying seeing/reading about so many people's Advent calendars (or similar)! C and I both have chocolate ones. Mine is from a local chocolatier so good that I got it knowing there're several with alcohol in there (so very not my thing), and C's is an all-booze-filled European one.

Some folks have brought this up in comments, but just saying... maybe we should ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION to the multitude of studies showing COVID infections (even "mild" ones) cause brain changes and ongoing cognitive decline. We've been letting our young people get COVID over & over & over again.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
