“Hi, I’m Rand Paul. You may recognize me from such mental gymnastics such as ‘recognizing the value of a larger insurance pool but only so long as it’s not the entire US population, the largest possible pool’ and ‘valorizing corporate profits over what’s best for citizens.’” #CoverageForAll
Rand Paul: "I have a plan that says everybody in this marketplace -- it's only about 4% -- everybody in this marketplace should be able to go to Amazon or Costco or Sam's Club and as a group, a large group, millions of people, negotiate with big insurance to bring prices down."

The only thing I more excited to work on than a primary challenge for Kaine is a primary challenge for Warner.

And I’ve historically liked Kaine! (Warner doesn’t even acknowledge my messages) But he is not up to the moment and a bluer Virginia than 20y ago.

Retire with thanks or get ejected.
WELKER: Massie and Khanna say they are looking at options including impeachment and contempt for DOJ officials. Would you support those steps?

KAINE: I think that's premature

This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...

Shame and punditry are essentially matter/antimatter and can’t coexist.
Casten is the single most informed federal elected official on the energy system. If he said this about something I penned on energy I would die of shame. Unfortunately, the neighborhood troll has none.

You’ve got the technical ability to reply to something I write and set it not to allow replies or quote posts, so feel free to take advantage of that ability. But if you’re gonna screw up your facts in it while also being fighty don’t be surprised when I detach it.

There is zero doubt in my mind that this report boils down to “voters like all our ideas that our donors hate most, they think all of us at the top are feckless uninspiring dorks who aren’t up to the fight and they wish more of our 75+ folks would hand the torch and stop trading stocks.”
BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.

As usual, the religious extremists running our country will take every opportunity to deprive you of things their personal beliefs don’t support, regardless of how widely it’s accepted by everyone else.

Support the troops… but not in their fertility issues! No IVF for service members.

Golly, if 44m is good what if we created a pool that was literally everyone in the US?

Honestly you can ask fucking Costco to administer it if that’s your kink, pal. Just stop with this bullshit where you understand how risk pools work until a corporation isn’t involved.
Rand Paul on his healthcare plan: "What if you could join Costco? Costco has 44m members and if one person negotiated for all 44 and they bought a group plan like Toyota or General Motors does, they would be the largest collective entity in the country. They would drive prices down by sheer might."

A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:
