"Domestic terrorist" wasn't landing so they're going with "bitch" and "dyke" and "race traitor".

The explosion of misogyny and homophobia directed at Renee Good is unsurprising. They need to place her in a category of bad woman because that's how patriarchy always justifies violence against women.
As a former advocate for survivors of domestic violence, I cannot describe how much it pains me to hear the Vice President say we owe a debt of gratitude to man who shot a woman in the face and then called her a fucking bitch.

Almost like despite proclamations to the contrary, they are getting the message that they can use “vehicle as a deadly weapon“ as an excuse to fire on people
“.. In the last four months alone, immigration officers have fired on at least nine people in five states and Washington, D.C. All of the individuals targeted in those shootings were, like the woman killed on Wednesday, fired on while in their vehicles.”

A group of ppl in Minneapolis made signs w/ the names & ages of other people killed by ICE to lay at Renee Good's memorial

in order to uplift people whose deaths aren't making national/ international news the same way.

This is to honor what Renee fought for & highlight that they, too, were Good.
Traffic is flowing again, large number of people have dispersed. A small crowd is lingering at the site of the shooting. Media doing interviews.

A sign for Silverio Villegas González, shot and killed by ICE behind the wheel of his car outside Chicago in September, sits in the snow and flowers.

I think it's an unqualified good if we all go apeshit over ICE murdering renee nicole good but Black, brown, and Asian people have been getting murdered by ICE for the past year and it's so hard for me not to become the joker thinking about how little impact those deaths had by comparison

Surprisingly mask-off transphobic even for the WaPo
Fuck the WaPo. “The Supreme Court has the chance this week to save women’s sports, allowing states to restore a level playing field for girls by excluding biological men and thereby correcting one of the worst excesses of America’s cultural revolution.” wapo.st/49FbAts

journalists are fond of describing themselves as brave truthtellers who stand up against the powerful—but all i see right now is a woman who was murdered for engaging in civil resistance against the fascist thugs kidnapping her neighbors and a media too cowardly to truthfully describe her life

theres so much horrible shit about the murder of renee good, but there is something deeply terrifying about the way everyone from media to politicians have erased her wife from the story. ive seen far more mention of her late husband than her wife who was sitting next to her when she was murdered

Watching Trump's Air Force One presser from several hours ago, and I don't like the way Trump called Renee Good's wife a "friend," with emphasis, repeatedly

It was extremely on purpose and a clear message for the LGBTQ+ community

“i feel like i have been condescended to by a woman who looks exactly like this thousands of times” is incredible. mediocre white men burning down the world because women had the freedom to not have to lie to them and were able to call them mediocre for a few years.
The animating force at the heart of US conservatism currently is incandescent rage at the mere idea of women's autonomy and independence. An image of a smiling woman who looks insufficiently deferential for their tastes riles them up enough to tear up the social contract.
this is all it’s really about for them. Not domestic policy, not “economic anxiety”, just an endless desire to punish stand-ins for the Mommy who forced them take a bath, even if it tanks their own quality of life.

I find myself increasingly out of patience with the debates on whether the current US regime counts as fascist, or what the strict definition of a fascist polity even is, held between those who don't even acknowledge how central patriarchal violence is to reactionary regimes.
In this clip from a longer interview, she says while she was in detention, agents called Renee Good a “lesbian b*tch.”

This video belongs to @statuscoupnews.bsky.social and I’ll take it down if they want me to.

! Trans creators and activists are being targeted by the FBI. One, Tara, was told she was “propagating radical gender ideology” and “domestic terrorism.”

Rose’s analysis: the feds are targeting politically engaged trans people to find something “illegal” to “make an example out of us.”

it is telling that after a queer woman gets murdered with the words “fucking bitch”, some leftist-ish people feel the need to start discussions about how bitch is not a misogynistic slur because it is also used as a non-slur. like, misogyny is really normalized for you to even entertain that notion.

clearly bitch is not a slur, it’s just the word misogynistic patriarchs use to rightly identify the uppity woman who speaks out of term in a way that hurts his ego and threatens his status, who needs to be punished and put back into her place.

it is a sign of normalized antifeminism that people just say out load with their whole chest and full conviction that it can’t possibly be a slur without so much as taking a cursory glance at feminist literature on the subject.

the reaction people have when you say it's a misogynistic slur does nothing but reinforce my belief that it *is* a misogynistic slur used to silence women who speak out of turn

the thing is, leftist discourse is always an endless samsara because people don’t learn leftist thought except in that very discourse, coming in with deeply held reactionary beliefs that they will defend without even noticing that they are being reactionary.

the biggest problem for me isn’t even that people need to be educated constantly, but that people overwhelmingly feel like they do not need to be educated and have the correct position, and it is very tiring for me that people are incapable of being convinced that they are wrong

Incredible* to see the Times assert that apparently a woman hurting a man's feelings means he should be able to kill her.

(*completely expected)
The Times was right behind Trump in his first term, cheering him on and denouncing his opponents as elitist leftist swine who hate the working man, right up until that torchlit Nazi march where that fascist killed that girl. Then it all went sotto voce. No such concerns, this time.

and the fact that it wasn’t pulled immediately after the grok CSAM incident says everything you need to know about the way “protecting children” is used as a justification for anything else. it’s never really about that at all. it’s all just power & capital.
Honestly think that if you pulled twitter from the App Store and shut it down it would fuck up the entire right wing ecosystem at that point. Like the entire media apparatus would fall apart.

This man is literally not even related to Renee. It’s her late-husband’s father! Seems to not even know how old his grandchild his. There is no good reason that’s been disclosed so far to be treating this man’s narrative on Renee as meaningful, just misogyny.
