Excellent short article worth reading in full. But man, this first tweet really underscores Elon’s shameless dishonesty.

To say the only fascists are people who directly commit violence is to argue that Hitler and most members of the Nazi Party were not fascists.

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

god, the publisher must be absolutely *kicking* themselves for not putting a competent ghost on this.
Look, let's be blunt about it: what literally every reader of this book wants to know is "hey, so... you blew up your entire life for THIS GUY. What, uhm, what's the deal with that? HIM???"

We're 100 pages in and Nuzzi is extremely not talking about it at all.

My colleague points out here that possibly one in seven requests to our library now may be assisted by LLMs.

When those point to fictional documents, that's a huge staff time drain. There's often no quick way to check if an undigitized primary source doc exists beyond physically pulling some boxes.

I've loved Sigourney Weaver ever since one of my all-time favorite movies, ALIEN. Couldn't resist going all fanboy on her yesterday & asking for a photo. She told me she's now in the cast of The Mandalorian. Talk about bad timing: she's now in that galaxy far, far away, years after I checked out! 💔

Reading around for a pod I'm recording tomorrow I came across this classic episode of @chrislhayes.bsky.social's pod where we dug into America's epistemic crisis. Tons of gems in here. And boy has everything on this front gotten *much* worse since 2018...

Has anyone figured out exactly which editor at NY Mag took Nuzzi's vacuous slop and made it readable? The more of her writing comes out, the more heroic that person appears in retrospect.
“I look down at the crashing swell. Alone at the after-party, a kind of honeymoon in hell. I am on the list, a bit of grave misfortune. I am in the New York Post, even worse. The ink is black, the pages yellow. Everything, some kind of lie. What of doubt? Scientists cannot see the soul.”
Sentences From American Canto That Sent Me To The Hospital
I reviewed Olivia Nuzzi's American Canto for Slate. There's far less RFK Jr. in it than you'd expect.
