I'm sorry, but it is genuinely evil that this has been published, and if we had any press standards in this country, it wouldn't have been allowed to happen.
Everyone can see this is insane and that Suzanne Moore is a fucking joke right?

"You don't need to transition to be trans" has become the equivalent of "You can be gay without acting on homosexual urges".

A sentiment that was supposed to be about inclusivity and welcoming people into our community has been cynically co-opted as an "affirming" basis to deny transition care.

Note: Cass did not include a ban of puberty blockers in her recommendations from The Cass Review.

She is scolding someone for not supporting something she did not recommend doing. Then saying they are too dumb to understand medical evidence??????

It makes no sense lmao.
"Labour MPs who oppose a ban on puberty blockers have a ‘misunderstanding’ of medical evidence, Baroness Cass has claimed." Mail.

Co-signed. @safety.bsky.app's statement goes further than most statements of its kind in that it gives explicit directions on how to harass marginalised people in a way that will give it an excuse not to enforce the TOS as written. Bluesky Safety is now a participant in the harassment
In case you missed it, this is "we're not going to take action against harassment as long as you do it this way". Pretty close to a full-throated endorsement of the Libs of Tiktok model of stochastic terrorism.
We do not currently take action on accounts that share Bluesky screenshots with commentary, unless that commentary violates our Guidelines. We will take action when someone's private information is shared without their consent, but only when it is personally identifiable and verifiable in-app.

Genuinely don’t know how any trans person holds a self and life together atm. Tempted to see inducing despair as another eliminationist tactic; probs too neatly conspiratorial, but even absent intent, the effect feels potent all the same

I am not Well atm and I don’t really know what to do with it. People will be like get therapy but I have a therapist, I’ve had one for years, I’ve had so much therapy

if you're cis:

if you think you know how your trans friends are doing, you don't.
if you think you have a finger on the pulse, you don't.

i've been out for 12 fucking years, transphobia has never been this direct, explicit, and targeted, with the intention that we (redacted). check in
cis folks on here should have their feeds replaced by a trans person’s for a day. they’d see the fear, the anguish, the hopelessness of a community that is tired, broke, starving, and desperate for a shred of human decency in a world that wants to end us.

Labour’s manifesto promised to “remove indignities for trans people”, yet the government’s ban on puberty blockers adopts the Tories’ politicised unevidenced approach.

Young people — cis & trans — must have access to healthcare they need. I stand firmly with the trans community.
December 12, 2024 at 12:10 PM
Despicable
It's genuinely sick that they are consulting groups that openly want to wipe trans people out on our healthcare. Beyond evil. How are these vile people not held to account
The Labour Government has confirmed they invited numerous known hate groups and pro-conversion orgs to give evidence for their closed consultation on the puberty blocker ban, including Bayeswater Support, LGB Alliance, CAN-SG, Transgender Trend and Sex Matters.

Never let them forget this choice.

81 Democrats voted to ban gender affirming care for the children of military families. Absolutely disgraceful. This is the first national ban on care to pass congress and the first anti LGBTQ bill in nearly 3 decades.
The National Defense Authorization Act, which enacts the first federal anti-lgbtq law in decades and targets the trans kids of military servicemembers, just passed with 80 Democratic votes.

Shameful.

Will get the list of dems who voted for it shortly.

You are all responsible for enabling this and you can all go fuck yourselves, forever.

Ten years ago no one gave a damn about trans people or got angry about or medication. When NC tried to ban us from bathrooms, the public outcry forced them to backtrack.

This is the result of ten years of propaganda and millions invested into sympathetic writers recasting hatred as “concern”…

The ban only makes sense if you consider "trans children surviving to become trans adults" as a harm, as a failure state.

The ban only makes sense if you think most trans kids dying so *some* desist and identify as cis is a success.
The worst said about the use of puberty blockers for youth gender dysphoria is that the evidence, while generally positive, isn't as strongly positive as it could be.

On this basis lawmakers are instituting bans.

No harm has been demonstrated and no other treatments have any evidence whatever.

Puberty blockers have been used safely since 1988 for trans kids. No issues. No one had concerns until GC's raised their ugly heads and decided it was best to eradicate trans people. It's never been about PB's, the agenda is purely and simply ensuring trans people and their healthcare doesn't exist.

It’s even worse knowing that Wes actually met trans kids, listened to them cry about how awful it would be to go through the wrong puberty, how this is a lifesaving treatment, and is fucking doing this anyway

It’s even more heartless than shutting them out of conversations
BREAKING: I have seen confirmation that the indefinite puberty blocker ban for trans kids that was passed by the NI Executive yesterday will be UK-wide. It will come into effect on January 1 2025 when the temporary ban expires.

It is being laid before Parliament today.

Cis people, if you're struggling to imagine how horrific forced detransition in prison is:

Imagine that you could be arrested for going about your day doing normal stuff, just because someone doesn't like the look of you, and then forced to undergo a sex change as "punishment"

The puberty blocker ban will be extended, likely before the end of the week and it won't be extended by months but by years. They've met with trans kids. They've met with parents. They've met with trans groups. They haven't listened. They don't care.

I highly recommend Rosemary Kirstein's Steerswoman series. I think when the first one was published in 1989 it was way ahead of its time. It's a story with twists and turns and mysteries the reader and the characters gradually unravel and so many things are not what they seem. It's a fantastic read.
A friend just told me that @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social started a Patreon to help her finish the last two books in the Steerswoman series, and I have never subscribed to a thing more quickly: www.rosemarykirstein.com/2024/11/so-a...
