I was having frequent punctures on my commute and decided to go for slime inner tubes. They have worked really well so far. Think they might be too heavy for proper roadies, but for my semi-cargo bike they’re fine!

Can the US please get some politicians who frame safe streets infrastructure as "Are you okay with getting outworked by little French and Finnish kids who ride on cargo bikes in the rain or bike snowy trails to school?" so we can harness American Insecurity for good instead of evil.

Feeling a bit drained and dispirited but I met a dad near my son's after school centre who told me I'd inspired him to get a cargo bike. I had a look at the bike, it was a big beast. He was delighted and so was I.

I started biking with my baby at 4 weeks old, in a car seat in my cargo bike. Pediatrician approved. Doctors who get it are out there!! (and not saying this is right for every infant - just that it was for mine)

I have had just one flat tyre since using Schwalbe puncture resistant tyres, but the importance of maintaining correct, or at least sensible tyre pressures can't be understated. There is a for and against patching rear hub motor wheel tyres, especially on a cargo bike.

It is wonderful. Almost as good as a job in Toronto I wanted to apply for once upon a time, delivering coffee for a local roaster, by cargo bike. It would've been heavenly.

Yeah, the express supermarket delivery people get a fancy supermarket branded electric assisted cargo bike and helmet and high viz waterproofs and aren’t chasing a wage by mowing people down

We have great plans for next year, it is going to be BIG, but are probably not going to manage much of this year.
In the meantime we do still have a cargo bike for hire and will be looking to run some pop-up events when we can.

Honestly it’s so useful. The front rack can take 20kg so together with the bag it transforms what you can do. Here’s an older photo which sort of shows how tall it is. It’s pretty study so can hold itself up (stuff doesn’t flop around).

Besides Minneapolis, my favorite biking city is D.C.
The had a major snow/ice storm last week & bikelanes (& many sidewalks) are still covered in snow.
It’s been colder than average for them.
And still, they bike… including hauling cargo bikes atop snow piles to lock up.

I can no longer ride a regular bike, but I know I would enjoy zipping around the city in an e-trike. Cargo racks and a comfortable seat with a back?! Sign me up!l.

I also asked about the "is it legal to put my kid on an (e)cargo bike" question and she said " I am not sure if they have been updated since the cargo e-bike pilot was launched."
