What a joy to see so many friends at today's Commerce City Hispanic Heritage Celebration & to eat tasty treats from Las Dos Americas!

Had some great conversations about the need to lower costs, protect Medicaid & ensure bilingual students can thrive. I'll continue to advance these priorities #CO08

Third taco is a flor de calabeza for me and a pastor for the Major at Tortilleria La Poblanita. It rules. Also first taco eaten in the company of the blessed virgin #tacotouronlakestreet @visitlakestreet.bsky.social

My Los Angeles breakfast burrito power-ranking document needs some maintenance, but the top of the heap still stands as:

BBAD
Carnitas Los Dos Chingones
The Chori-Man
Doubting Thomas
Happy Taco
La Azteca Tortilleria
Lowkey Burritos
Macheen
I feel like back on the cursed site you actually published that bracket once. Or did i make that up?

My daughter has been experimenting with this for a few weeks now...the tortillas are strangely shaped but so tasty! You'll never want store bought again. Except maybe from a tortilleria

Visited a well-regarded tortilleria down the street for the first time earlier today and, folks, I felt like I was truly transported home from a faraway place for the first time in my life. Such an unexpected rush of familiarity, equal parts disorienting and comforting.

not sure which businesses to support in the area?

logan's - tasty fast food burgers better than a chain
marsu - american & mexican style pizzas, reasonably priced!
taco taxi - enough said
supermercado la morelia - my favorite mercadito
la poblanita tortilleria - delicious platillos and tacos
Please show support for the small businesses near Lake and Bloomington and East Lake Street in general. Buy food, groceries, clothing, and more.

She’s prob talking about shelf tortillas. I may be spoiled, my grocery store (heb) has a tortilleria and makes the bigger 9in burrito size. Those things are gold. I made a large batch of breakfast burritos with spiced lean meat and extra veg. At that point, no tortilla waste! The reg tortillas are 🔥

“12. Old El Paso (Mexican Food, Tacos, Wraps, Refried Beans)
• Why boycott? Owned by General Mills which is one of the world's largest processed food manufacturers.
• Better alternatives: La Tortilleria (Australia), Doña Cholita (Mexico/Australia), or Casa Fiesta (Mexico).”

I went and got tacos from Tortilleria Sinaloa. They were very good (carnitas, al pastor & lengua. They are very generous with the fillings, I’ll take some out next time for better balance) but I really wanted sopes from Cocina Luchadoras😢

Very excited about this new brewing project. Doing a Mexican lager with a local tortilleria. Doing some pils, flaked corn and masa from the factory. Gonna dry hop with a little touch of motueka. The brewhouse smells awesome. Like fresh tortillas

Is there a unionized tortilleria in Chicago, or at least one with a reputation for better working conditions than El Milagro? I've long been an Atotonilco boy myself, but I don't know whether to actually recommend them to people making a switch while El Milagro workers organize.
