Dunblane's historic Leighton Library has a 1653 edition of "In Sacra Biblia graeca ex versione LXX interpretum scholia; simul et interpretum caeterorum lectiones variantes" by influential English nontrinitarian, often called the Father of English Unitarianism, John Biddle, born #OnThisDay 1615

Really interesting history… Unitarianism, as a Christian denominational family of churches, was first defined in Poland-Lithuania and Transylvania in the late 16th century. It was then further developed in England and America until the early 19th century. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History...

I agree with Homer Simpson when he said of Unitarianism: 'If that's the one true faith, I'll eat my hat'

Good news is I’m pretty sure the way to convert to Unitarianism is to say “I’m a Unitarian now.”

I've always mocked Unitarianism for being a church without any beliefs but I do not have a better idea

Baha'i ..... Isn't that similar to Unitarianism?

reading north and south (by elizabeth gaskell) which forced me to research unitarianism in order to understand what “dissenters” are actually dissenting FROM, all so i can understand why tf mr. hale quit his career to uproot his poor wife and kid to nowhere, and i STILL don’t understand

That's called Unitarianism

I love this. My feeling is religion should be the whole of a person; their time, their actions, their philosophy like harmonious music. This I say even though I grew up with a religion of Unitarianism, which is more about ethics and enquiry than belief in a specific idea of a higher power.

Pretty sure that’s just Unitarianism.

As an ex Catholic atheist I never considered Unitarianism, and don’t remember any craft bazaars. 🤔

Shropshire played its part in the Midlands Enlightenment - perhaps connected!

The Unitarians established a church there very early, pre-1700: Coleridge was briefly a minister, Charles Darwin worshipped there as a small boy

Unitarianism was associated with abolitionism & medicine/practical science

so there’s your actual real life historical connection between unitarianism and islam

anyway, unitarianism thrived in transylvania under ottoman rule partially because it was the one place in europe where the rulers didn’t care about the trinity anyhow

There's one that's called something like universal unitarianism? Idk anything about it but I've heard it's popular with academic types

What if Unitarianism, but reactionary?

Definitely need to assess my social skills platform use.

Reddit - fun for talking about video games

BooSky - YIMBYs? The UU tab is often full of people talking about classic Unitarianism, which doesn’t apply

Discord - I’m to old for the UU young adult Discord I am active in.

Rev. William Tudor Jones (1865-1946) on his conversion from Calvinistic Methodism to Unitarianism.

Born in Ceredigion, he ministered variously to Swansea, Wellington (New Zealand), Islington & Bristol Unitarian churches and was an expert on German philosopher Rudolf Eucken.

A quote worth remembering this holiday season from Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol."  Although raised in the Anglican Church, Dickens adopted the ideals of Unitarianism in his 30s.

100% aware I’m just projecting my own religious views here, but in effect, if not intent, this isn’t secular in my view. I can’t imagine many stronger acts of Christ’s gospel

But again, I’m not trying to squeeze Unitarianism through a Christian tube. Just my own observation

There's no shortage of #UnitarianUniversalist "baddies". So I find it quite amusing that #Unitarianism is being associated with #Trumpism.

Speaking of a "#Unitarian executive", #UUA "baddies" falsely accused me of #BlasphemousLibel for #blogging about #UUpedophiles & #UUrapists. 🤣😇

Granted, trinitarianism is very easy to be accidentally heretical about, because it's an accumulation of negations, but it's not quite usual to end up at inverted Unitarianism.
