It’s the latter, but they’re mendacious enough they want you to think it’s the former.

jokes aside, can you imagine how you would handle it if you asked a human assistant "did you make all this up instead of actually doing any of the work", and that person responded to you with "good catch"

Shared row data file with GPT5 to analyze, the result KPIs were crazy, so I naively asked, and innocently it responded.

Notice how bystanders start whistling the moment the Gestapo leave the car--a warning to the vulnerable and a call to action for those ready to exercise their rights to record government agents, protest said agents, and petition the government for redress (in person!).

Trick question after Jan 6. But indeed.

“Who was president in 2020?” remains one of the most pertinent questions in American politics—absurd, yes, but here we are—and that extends to “who was president January 1 - 19, 2021?”
joycewhitevance.bsky.social
That’s a nice trick, since Biden wasn’t the president on Jan 6.

IMHO, LLMs will be an economic negative for years.

They'll do a worse job than humans,

but will still replace humans because they're cheaper for employers,

but really they're costlier, it's just that lots of costs get externalized to society by our horrible energy/tax policies.

Lose-lose-lose.
The Real AI Risk is ‘Meh’ Technology That Takes Jobs and Annoys Us All
While AI doomsday scenarios dwell on the risks posed by superintelligent robot overlords, one Nobel-Prize winning economist fears a more mundane possibility.

Should be bigger news that one of the world’s richest men, clothed in great power and influence, has gone floridly insane.

thiel, man, what the fuck are you talking about

He describes the plot of Watchmen, a 1986 graphic novel involving superheroes grappling with moral questions about humanity against the backdrop of impending nuclear war:

The antihero Ozymandias, the antichrist-type figure, is sort of an early-modern person. He believes this will be a timeless and eternal solution – eternal world peace. Moore is sort of a late-modern. In early modernity, you have ideal solutions, ‘perfect’ solutions to calculus. In late modernity, things are sort of probabilistic. And at some point, he asks Dr Manhattan whether the world government is going to last. And he says that ‘nothing lasts forever.’ So you embrace the antichrist and it still doesn’t work.

Thiel later finds biblical meaning in the manga One Piece, discussing how he believes it represents a future where an antichrist-like one-world government has repressed science. He believes that the hero, Monkey D Luffy, represents a Christlike figure.

In One Piece, you are set in a fantasy world, again sort of an alternate earth, but it’s 800 years into the reign of this one-world state. Which, as the story unfolds, gradually gets darker and darker. You sort of realize, in my interpretation, who runs the world and it’s something like the antichrist. There’s Luffy, a pirate who wears a red straw hat, sort of like Christ’s crown of thorns. And then towards the end of the story, transforms into a figure who resembles Christ in Revelation.

Thiel, along with a researcher and writer at Thiel Capital, explored these ideas at greater length in an essay for the religious journal First Things earlier this month.

I really don't know what it means for a RIF to be "Democrat-oriented." Either they are targeting RIFs in Democrat house districts or they are targeting perceived Democrat employees. Regardless, sounds like an impermissible reason coupled with a First Amendment issue under Rutan v. Republican Party.

Q: How many layoffs have you authorized?

TRUMP: It'll be a lot. And it'll be Democrat-oriented.

a lot of people are finally waking up to the importance of the 3rd amendment. As a 3A absolutist, i think it should be illegal for soldiers to be quartered anywhere in this country. they should be camping under the open sky at all times. all military bases and barracks are unconstitutional.

You, as well, have an affirmative obligation due based on the oath you swore. If you won’t do it, at least step down. The people want actual fighters.

You should seriously consider that you are going to actually have to attack her, because you shouldn’t be so naive as to think she agrees with this statement. She held Senators in utter contempt and this milquetoast bullshit is the best you got? Grow a spine or resign, Amy.
