I know this is an obvious and old point, but it still shocks me how quickly the culture of the GOP has come to defined by the absurd personality type of the "toad-licking, ass kissing alpha." Amazing that they've built an audience that finds such deportment appealing, rather than disqualifying.

Public health depends on citizens accepting scientifically-grounded guidance. When official institutions produce politically-determined science and independent verification infrastructure is eliminated, the capacity for evidence-based health policy collapses, writes Renée DiResta.

Quick note about this again; the 100 mile zone has nothing to do with Border Patrol’s ability to operate. They can operate anywhere in the country.

The 100 mile zone is ONLY about where they have heightened stop and search powers.

It’s not a jurisdictional thing.
Why is Border Patrol in Chicago? It's not inside 100 mile limit.

Trump’s aid cuts are killing far more Nigerian Christians than Islamic terrorists are. Independent monitors in Nigeria report 33 deaths this year in attacks against Christians (fewer than the 88 Muslims killed). But Trump cut off aid that helped save 270,000 lives a year in Nigeria. 270,000 > 33.

The amount of financial scams happening are getting more diverse & harder to spot.

I imagine access to data brokers and the amt of data leaks, hacks and poor security practices at large companies is making it worse.

Lots of job and rental home scams! Two things in short supply/high demand.

Breaking News: Cornell University reached an agreement with the Trump administration that would restore hundreds of millions in funding to the university. It's expected to pay a $30 million fine to the government and to invest $30 million in agriculture and farming programs.

My latest, in @msnbc.com, on how ICE, CBP, and Bovino may be overplaying their hand in Chicago.

Also: this will only make hiring go ICE harder.

And: I hope ppl appreciate that the lying Judge Ellis calls out is NOT an aberration, but a very consistent problem w police claims.

A federal judge dealt federal agents a setback – and shed light on a much more persistent, deeper problem with policing.

Remember, historically judges will almost always take gov't claims at face value. It's an astounding fact that judges are now increasingly realizing that this administration just flat out lies to them constantly. And it's good to see them calling it out (in this case with a Trump-appointed judge).
A long and comprehensive opinion, but this jumped out at me: The judge accused the Federal Protective Service—which was called in to suppress the protests—of lying under oath to slander the regular Portland police.😬

DOJ recently admitted that other FPS claims in this case were objectively false.

Now to save messages — as law requires— officials gotta…

-take a screenshot.
-send it to their work computer
