Of all the things destructive to the constitutional order of the United States, one of the worst is wealthy sociopaths feeling entitled to be free of criticism, and the willingness of sleazy lawyers to take their money to enforce that feeling of entitlement.

Pete Hagueseth and the Dept of War Crimes
Blowing up boats and murdering folks is a war crime, especially when there is no evidence to support the decision.

Hegseth is in charge of the Pentagon and he’s the one giving illegal orders, but he’ll blame Admiral Bradley to save his own skin.

Hegseth should be removed and held accountable.

lol ya, she’s getting on that Riley Gaines train
Here’s the TPUSA version of events at OU.

Not surprisingly, they lie about what happened — she wasn’t flunked for quoting the Bible; she never even quoted it — and accuse the instructor, whom they name, as being “mentally ill”

Bari Weiss made her entire personality a mediocre rerun. Her incurious, bigoted navel gazing can now harm more people with the reach she's been elevated to.

it's not as if the CIA has ever trained someone to infiltrate & kill or otherwise engage - possible fatally - with violent groups, using promises that they'll be taken care of and remain safe afterward, only to abandon those very people, setting off a chain of events resulting in tragedy years later

"Those with the most to gain from capitalism want us to forget the good things that happened under socialism, lest we try to do anything to change a system in which wealth flows up into the hands of the rich and powerful. ... [T]reat people's basic needs as a shared responsibility."
What if the stories we were told about socialism were incomplete?

Kristen R. Ghodsee reflects on The Red Riviera and what everyday life under socialism reveals about equality, solidarity, and dignity—and why those lessons matter in 2025.
What Socialism Got Right
Writing "The Red Riviera" taught me that even flawed socialist systems offered insights into equality, solidarity, and the dignity of everyday life.

My situation is very tight at the moment, and the holidays are making it significantly worse. So I'm asking for help. I hate to keep sharing this and hope that it will pass soon.

Thank you so much to those who've helped! Anything means everything, even a boost, and I appreciate you all very much.

To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

This is extremely bad and worrisome for obvious reasons, but it's worth pointing out that this was obviously the student's goal

She knowingly wrote a garbage essay for her trans prof's class and when she obviously got a terrible grade stirred up a media storm

This was clearly the intended outcome
OU has put the professor here on administrative leave:

Absolutely abhorrent and despicable behavior for a "leftist", and the tweet is still up.

So all this AI has really accomplished is say "yes, the event in the thread is real, because the poster said it's real, and an AI generated summary of the thread pretending to be a news article includes the poster saying it's real, and that's enough for me."

If your admin says "but we need to prepare students for AI-driven careers," you can calmly say no. Reiterate that AI-integration is the result of wild capitalist greed, the technologies themselves aren't "generative" or useful in most careers, and students should focus on process-based learning.
