"Superhero fatigue" is a skill issue.

Watch some Czechoslovakian stop-motion animation, or a 1970s New York grindhouse sleazer, or Japanese found footage horror, or a British gangster flick, or a Korean melodrama, or a Brazilian historical political thriller.

Just watch MORE.
I just saw an article calling a piece of media the “cure for superhero fatigue.”

The cure for fatigue is TAKING A BREAK, not more of what fatigued you, whether it’s good or not.

Like, jogging is good, but if you’re fatigued from jogging, more jogging won’t cure your fatigue. You need to REST.

We have a dog walker once a week because of my dog’s disability/anxiety to help keep him accustomed to being handled by strangers outside of our presence and today I gave our walker a container of my chile verde with some arroz and it ended with him asking me how to get involved in local organizing.

i know it stings to come up with a plan for "twitter but for credulous tech troglodytes" only to have the great lord of the tech troglodytes buy the actual twitter and eat your entire lunch and the table it was on while the old and gay rats beneath flee to your half-finished table. but it's funny
personally i don't care what people talk about on here as long as it continues to be stuff that clearly pisses off the staff because they can't make money off it

We’ve been speaking out against KOSA since it was introduced in 2022 by Marsha Blackburn, a bigot and outspoken advocate for censoring trans people off the internet in effort to “protect children from the transgender in this culture.” KOSA has ALWAYS been about censorship and suppression.

He's so right about everything he says.

If you still struggle to watch movies that have sex scenes with your parents or other family members, you CAN get over that. Everyone will be fine 'cause it's a movie, it's art, they're adults, you're an adult.

Thank you to the heroes who make properly subtitled audiobooks for youtube. You are making it so much easier for my dad with poor eyesight to keep up with books. He has trouble focusing on audiobooks but loves this kind he can read along with. He's farsighted so big text on tv screen is perfect.

My dad invented a great guy today. Guy who, in 1841-3, wrote to Charles Dickens' editor to tell him to stop killing kids in his stories after reading "The Old Curiosity Shop" and subsequently believes that he is the sole reason Tiny Tim survives "A Christmas Carol"

This is wonderful! Huge congrats to Rudy!

I was so worried about bsky moderation being able to ban people like Link (bsky should apologize to him) even on other PDSes, and how this went against the whole idea of composable moderation.
Bluesky runs an appview.
Blacksky runs an appview.

A complete appview is a several terabytes sized database of the >18 billion follows, likes and posts of all bsky users, ever and forever.

To run a different appview is to make a fork in bsky’s timeline.

One has new posts from Łink.
One doesn’t.

Btw, locking in my Pluribus prediction: the hive mind is not actually a collective human consciousness. It is the virus as a separate entity using human knowledge scavenged from brains. If it was actually a collective human consciousness, it would love animals and create art. Not human at all.

It is terrible manners to comment on a model's body in figure drawing but one time a model disrobed and he had a ton of large bruises. The only bruises I'd seen like it before were on competitive HEMA athletes or hockey players. I went "oh my god are you okay?" before I could even think about it.

In case there are people who genuinely do not know this and want to learn it but are too scared to ask or Google it, there are a handful of reasons why photo-realistic-but-fake CSAM is a huge problem despite not technically depicting real victims. It isn't just a moral thing, it's practical.
