Minister Van Velden claims in her press release that "This new rate will benefit around 122,500 working New Zealanders". Currently those workers are losing money not benefitting. The government will pay more in benefits and welfare as well, so taxpayers lose too.

The designer of Times New Roman, Stanley Morrison, was a conscientious objector in 1916 and was imprisoned for his pacifist beliefs.

These dipshits can't even vice signal without screwing it up.
Times New Roman is an imported font, developed for London newspaper The Times in 1931. You know what American-designed font cooked up in 1994 would be perfect for this regime? Comic Sans.
Marco Rubio ordered diplomats to return to using Times New Roman font in official communications, calling his predecessor's decision to adopt Calibri a “wasteful” diversity move

I’d really like a government I can trust to just do government things without having to be aware of every single thing they’re trying to pass that will ultimately undermine democracy in some way shape or form.
Amazing how fast it’s changed from being interested to bracing every time I read the news.

Alongside the word of the year we should have “the word that has lost the most of its meaning this year”. I nominate “ceasefire”.

Even after this coalition government cut new graduate nursing hours from 32 to 24 hours per week in a very strange effort to provide new grad nursing jobs, STILL less than 50% of new grad nurses in New Zealand have been offered jobs.

There it is. We just reneged on Paris. FYI @centreeuropeanref.bsky.social & @ukparliament.parliament.uk
“Under questioning in the meeting, Willis also confirmed the government had no intention of buying offshore carbon credits to meet the 2030 Paris agreement as part of a "performative awards ceremony" even if that meant it would breach its commitment.”

Sometimes an article comes along that slices through the noise, but without needing to bullhorn its way through.

With calm clarity, this may help you navigate the contradictory stances where many who "speak of" X actually *do* Y...

I'm sure it may help many others too, so share it around.

Anyone would think we’re talking about 1000s of children being prevented from going through puberty forever with the use of puberty blockers.

Puberty blockers were prescribed to 113 people in 2023.

Come on now. Let doctors and other medical professionals do their damned job.
