hi! i wrote something for @rewirenewsgroup.com’s campus dispatch about student worker unions and repro justice!

it would make me very happy if you could read it and let me know what you think or, the greatest sign it was good: share it with others!
Analysis: Student Worker Unions Are a Force for Reproductive Justice
In the post-Roe era, student unions are increasingly helping student workers secure access to reproductive health care.

You’ll notice that California isn’t on the list. Or New York. Or many other places considered to be safe(r) for pregnant people. That’s because viability limits are bans, and there is no way to draw lines without leaving people behind.

The 9 states that do not restrict care are: Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, + DC
There are no “reasonable” restrictions on abortion care. Abortion care is restricted or banned in *41 states* - probably yours!

I am a mother of three children living in a torn tent that cannot protect us from cold or rain. My children’s small bodies shiver and their hearts ache 💔 We need a new tent, warm clothes, and education to restore hope amid this pain 📚❄️ We humbly ask your kind hearts to donate 🙏

Okay but it's a bit misleading to put this out there without disclosing that the vast majority of those donations are from out of state. From FEC data, 475 donations are located in Illinois and more than 3,000 others are not.
Compared to other candidates, our Q4 fundraising numbers show a campaign powered by people, not special interests.

Who would you rather have representing you, a candidate supported by self-funding, special interests and billionaire checkbooks, or one overwhelmingly supported by the people?

Media coverage of Gaza has plummeted. So today on @thenation.com, we're doing something pretty special: we're only running pieces by people in and from Gaza.

We're calling it "A Day for Gaza." You can find links to all of the incredible pieces here. Please read! www.thenation.com/article/worl...
A Day for Gaza
Today, The Nation is turning over its website exclusively to stories from Gaza and its people. This is why.

Before we published this investigation at @autonomynews.co, I reached out to the Georgia Composite Medical Board for comment on some of the medical licensing irregularities I and my sources found. They didn't respond, and this morning they formally "closed" my request without further information.
One Crisis Pregnancy Center Has Received $1.1 Million in Federal Housing Funds Since 2020
A Georgia anti-abortion organization is building a maternity home. Public opposition surfaced allegations of false advertising and medical licensing issues—and resulted in cease and desist letters.

Reminder that this is an absolutely urgent need in the Minneapolis area and rent is due TOMORROW. Families in hiding aren’t working and can’t pay rent.

Ashley Fairbanks is a locally trusted person and this fundraiser is real.
if you feel like passing around a link today and helping fundraise for rent that will actually get paid today (and in the next few days for families who have a grace period) you can send here.

we will be going hard all day. i won’t be posting about it because I don’t want to flood your feeds.

Hi everyone! We’ve been super busy delivering meals the past two weeks- the extreme cold has made this more necessary than ever. MIWRC has been operating as an emergency warning shelter for most of the month and we’ve been really fortunate to help keep hot meals available there for people in need.
