Esther Ghey really is just a transphobic piece of shit, this is fucking disgusting & my sympathy & empathy are saved wholly for the other kids whose lives she seems determined to ruin (sorry but parents aren't sacred & being the parent of a kid who was murdered doesn't absolve her of being a dick).

The only one I have actually been actively mad at was Prometheus and I was so mad I would bring it up to random people for days afterwards, waiters, people in elevators, like I was some guy on the street screaming about the end of the world
fun question: what’s the maddest you’ve ever been leaving a movie theater? not necessarily worst movie you’ve seen, but the one that just pissed you off the most. mine is Batman v Superman

Prometheus annoyed me off in the opening scenes with bad history and bad science and then proceeded to continue to be shit but then enraged me by trying to act like it was really clever and deep and sorry but you just can't do that if you've forgotten that plants have dna in the first few minutes.

This, kind of culture that the right wing lauds and the way in which they laud it makes a lot more sense when you understand it as functioning as a set of holy relics for their ideology.
The decline of right wing cultural production is just due to the fact that they don’t like culture, they like the signifiers of culture, ie “classic sculpture means white people are better.” They don’t like art at all except for this purpose. They don’t even like the nerd stuff they whine about

A lot of academics really do seem to think the primary purpose of students getting tens of thousands of pounds in debt is to keep them employed.
