Been working on a piece for a while (and he just...tweeted it out) about this as the far-right version of the Cultural Revolution. They have no constructive goal, just a drive to make every "intellectual" suffer. If they could send everyone with a BA to Qinghai (Montana) to dig ditches, they would.
I think it's best for everyone to understand that the unified class project of billionaires right now is to do to white collar workers what globalization and neoliberalism did to blue collar workers.

I really appreciated the bit about countries trying to work bilaterally with the US doing “the performance of sovereignty while accepting subordination.” Felt like a pointed jab at Starmer.

Tbf it speaks to a larger issue that I’ve spoken about before having lived in the UK for over a decade, which is using the over-the-top politics of the US to obscure how bad things are in the UK.
Obviously the current moment is an escalation, but still - we (the UK) are part of this too!
