Chicago. Parent. Fat. Bisexual. Bipolar II. Loud. Still masking. Kind of cute if you squint. Nerdy, but in a way that's fairly socially acceptable now. I have a kid, Nikole, who is she/they and a spouse, N, who is he/him.

If you post queerphobic bullshit like "Elonia Musk" or two male politicians kissing or whatever then I'm blocking you.

You don't need to make "ewww gaaayyy" jokes about these dipshits. You can simply point to the actual harm they are actively doing. You don't need to make gay jokes period, in fact.

This is possibly my favorite product answer yet:

Q: Will this deodorizing spray get rid of dead animal smell?
A: Yes, but you need to remove the dead animal or you will need to keep applying it.

1) Neither of Amos' parents have appeared in this strip, including at his wedding. They are uninvolved in his life to the degree it was a plot point in a short story line. Therefore, how could his mother have impacted Edda in any way?

2) Once again, Edda revels in her superiority over her daughter.

This is not a rhetorical question - swing on by and answer!
We can start with this

Where do you physically/literally read the comics that you read?

-do you read the New York Daily News comics section on the number 6 train?

-do you have a stack of Deadpool comics in a rack next to your toilet?

-do you read graphic novels in an EZ chair?

Who ARE you?

Hello network. This is real shit. I’m looking for transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming front and back end web designers for a project to help trans people get housing in NJ. This is a paid opportunity.

Please share this if you see it, and my DMs are open for more information. Tysm 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

I legit don’t plan my designs, I wait until a concept appears unbidden from the ether and festers in my brain for months until it becomes so annoying to think about, and then I make the thing. Usually painfully.

The Hope Floats silk scarf was my way to speak up for our lupus warriors. Bold purples, bright yellow, and butterflies honor the strength it takes to live with lupus, especially in Native communities where we are diagnosed younger and face higher risks.

I got a Twitter DM from the publisher of a book by Jeffrey Haas (Fred Hampton's lawyer) that I'd recommended in a thread that went viral, thanking me for the unexpected spike in sales. I'm sure we're talking dozens, not hundreds, but they were like doing highkey internet sleuthing to figure it out!
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

We're watching "Dexter: Original Sins" and I am reluctant to use the term "character assassination" for Brian because he's, you know, an amoral serial killer. But they're really going hard with the "born innately bad" angle. Lazy.

It was great seeing Deb realize her police work calling though.

Second worst thing about black metal (after the fascist infestation) is that many people in the scene are so hostile to genre fusion that we get 1,000 muddy albums from bands that sound exactly alike and then bands like Imperial Triumphant are frowned upon by TRVE KVLT types for doing cool new stuff

The other constant is that they were treated well EXCEPT in Texas, there the railroadmen would all turn the heat up to max and lock the window shutters closed. (The railroadmen were all sons of recent German or Czech immigrants and REALLY hated the Nazis)
One of my favorite genres are memoirs of German POWs who were sent to America. To a man, they all realized they'd always been fucked when they saw how huge and rich our country was.
the nazis were utterly mystified at the trash our soldiers discarded dawg. total broke ass behavior

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

We were at a gathering yesterday and someone asked a legal question about something my husband has dealt with.

Someone else jumped in, saying he was going to ask chat (gpt). Others agreed that was a good idea. Ten minutes later he had an answer... that my husband had to correct.

This is scratching an itch that's going to be a bigger thought -

about how the recurring failure of white American society is hearing about someone who's being marginalized, and meaning well and wanting to fix it... but thinking that changing a word is the beginning and end of the work.
