Minnesota was already a great place to live. This moment strengthening our community bonds and shared identity will take that to another level. We're forever changed, in a way that only could only come from banding together to look out for vulnerable neighbors in the face of evil.
ICE and MAGA really did bet the farm on all of Minneapolis’s white people going “oh yes, please take away our disgusting, evil non-white-foreigner neighbors, oh thank you so much.”

it’s beautiful that they’ve been proven incredibly wrong about that - may the rest of the country do the same.

When you have no values, but only ambition, you end up like Newsom, Buttigieg, Emmanuel, Booker: indulging man’s worst instincts. It allows you to throw trans people under the bus and defend ICE’s continued existence. And everyone sees right through you.

Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped from Minneapolis. He was my neighbor and he died in an American concentration camp. He was not "illegal," he was a human being made in the image of the divine. May his memory be a blessing, and may the rest of us fight like hell until we stop this brutality.
This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.

I have some more bad news.

If an admissions committee even suspects you used ChatGPT for your application letter, they'll almost certainly decide not to waste a precious admissions spot on you.

Instead they'll give it to, you know, someone who actually likes to write and knows how to do it.
I have some bad news. One, if you need to use ChatGPT for your graduate application letter, you are not ready for graduate school.

Two, no, not "everyone is doing it" and those who don't do it aren't "losing out." ChatGPT is not an advantage.
An impressive number of graduate applications this year used the phrase “curiosity-driven approach” 🤔

I just read 125 applications for a *faculty* position. AI was so obvious, circular and generic. One person spoke about “student-centered assessment” 🫠 or another's “great desire to create and enable experimental findings is synonymous with my commitment to scientific advancement” 😒 FML
I don’t think that’s true. These applications read as if they were written by robots because they were. We’re looking to train humans, not robots. I don’t get anything unique from them because they aren’t. They don’t stand out at all

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Renee Good wasn’t dead the moment she was shot, and they still denied her medical assistance. As I said in my video at the time, they could not have known whether there was an opportunity to save her bc they didn’t let anyone assess her. There has to be some consequence for denying her that chance!

Gavin Newsom has never had a homeless, a working unhoused, or an affordable housing advocate on his podcast despite governing California.

So yeah I think it’s weird that he’s entertained & platformed multiple fascists while grinning, nodding & relenting to their easily defeatable talking points.
